I am thankful that I no longer work for a company and an industry that was killing me an hour at a time.
I am thankful that I have the energy for my creativity back, and that I can actually kinda make a living at it. (More next week, hee hee.)
I am thankful that I have my health, at least so far. If I can get rid of this stupid weight, I'll be even more thankful.
I am thankful for my lady Anne and my tag-team partner Leslie, the two people who above all others keep me sane and make me happy. I deserve neither of them, let alone both of them.
I am ever so thankful for Da Huskie Bear.
I am thankful for Kate and Gail and Hal and Sherri and Tom and Karen and Mark and Sharon and Chris and Becca and Liz and Steve and Steve and Jan and Trace and Margaret and Clarke and Tom and Tara and Dave and Diane and Lee and Mary and Sally and so many more, people who make everything worth it.
I am thankful for my family, who may have their problems with each other but who all seem to be getting along with me.
I am thankful for my other friends, including all of you, with whom I share part of my life, and who share parts of their lives with me even though we haven't necessarily met.
If you feel moved to be thankful for something and you'd like to share it with us, by all means post it here.
Hugs and love and a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday to us all.

Date: 2005-11-23 01:30 pm (UTC)I am thankful for my ex-husband, who taught me what love was not.
I am thankful for my parents, who created me, inspired me, and saw me safely to adulthood.
I am thankful for the rest of my family, who supported me when my parents did not.
I am thankful for my friends, who keep me laughing and remind me what loyalty is.
I am thankful for my LJ-acquaintances, who open my eyes and keep me aware of the world outside my walls.
I am thankful for my job, corporate-hell that it may be, because it provides me with income and constant reminders of how fortunate I am.
And I am thankful for each new day I live to see, because it is one more opportunity to experience, learn, grow, and love.

Date: 2005-11-24 01:29 am (UTC)I don't really consider myself a furry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furry_lifestyler) in the modern sense, but tend more for the original interest-base (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funny_animal), largely lost over the years. I understand any confusion based on the avatar I use here.
Also, I'd like to thank you and the Night Crew of FurryMuck for introducing me and my husband. We were just married in October of this year after several happy years of courtship. To think, we might not have met if not for you. So thank you for reminding me of one more thing to be thankful for.

Date: 2005-11-23 01:52 pm (UTC)I am thankful that my son is healthy and happy and seems to like me, and that my wonderful wife hasn't wised up and left my lame bemulleted ass yet.
I am thankful every time I get an e-mail from someone who enjoys my music and/or found it therapeutic during a hard time in their lives.
I am thankful for DayQuil, without which I would be at home in a fetal position today, and for coffee, without which I wouldn't even have the energy to curl into said fetal position.
And I am thankful that my nipples popped up this morning to let me know that it's cold, because how the hell else would I have known?

Date: 2005-11-23 03:42 pm (UTC)I am thankful that I am not going through the chaos that my former company is.
I am thankful that, though it seems outdated, the concept of Company Loyalty is still looked well upon.
I am thankful that I got to run a convention that, were it not for a circumstance beyond my control, would have made just a LITTLE bit of money.
I am thankful of that same convention, for getting to chat with you, and hang out ever so little amongst the chaos of running such a beast.
I am thankful for all the good that is happening to people I know, and thankful that the desire to help others has not left me yet.
I am thankful that I'm now a college student, though I have no idea how I'm going to pull this trick off.
In short, I'm thankful for an awful lot, and lose sight of that now and then.
Thanks. :)

Date: 2005-11-23 05:00 pm (UTC)We're thankful for tasty and healthy food; for laughter, tears and hugs with family and close strangers, for trees that can be climbed and mountains that can be hiked. We're thankful for everything life has given us, and whether you believe in God or not, we're thankful for all the gifts that have helped us grow in wisdom and in mind.
We are even thankful for all of the troubles which have come our way, for without them we would not truly appreciate the joys which daily accompany us.
There is so much to be thankful for and we are most truly thankful that there is a day to remind us of these of things.
Thank you Tom, for this chance to express some of these.

Date: 2005-11-23 05:20 pm (UTC)I'm thankful for my low-stress job where I get to play with mass spectrometers and where only rarely does anyone bring me mouse urine to analyze.
I'm thankful that you can travel around and record stuff and otherwise bombard us with, um, Tom Smithness.

Date: 2005-11-23 06:20 pm (UTC)I am thankful that, despite the myriad problems we are facing today, I still live in what is doubtless one of the best countries in the world.
I am thankful that I have people who I can call "friends" who have enough of a sense of humor that they can even stand to be around a dork like me.
I am thankful that I have a job which, while it's far from my dream career and doesn't pay all the money in the world, I can still go into every day without an intense sense of self-loathing and know that I'll get enough money to live in at least minimal comfort.
I am thankful I am not Danish.
I am thankful that I am in no way, shape or form related to the Bush and/or Cheney family.
I am thankful that I have ears with which I can hear laughter, eyes with which I can see a smile, a mouth with which I can tell a joke, feet with which I can dance, and arms with which I can hug a friend.
I am thankful that I don't have to listen to someone telling me that I'm going to Hell because my brain isn't wired the same way there's are... Not every day, anyway.
I am thankful that I had the intelligence to get a Mitsubishi Lancer, which gets 30 miles to a gallon, while everyone else was going SUV-crazy.
But most of all, I am thankful that, no matter what happens, no matter how bad things may get, no matter where I might end up, and no matter why things are the way they are... I'll always have a sense of humor to help me get through it, and that there will always be people that I can share it with.

Date: 2005-11-23 08:19 pm (UTC)I'm thankful for my 12-year-old, who manages to be brilliant, compassionate, helpful, responsible and still humble, human and down-to-earth. When all about her are losing their heads, she keeps hers and that is a gift.
I'm thankful for my husband...so supremely thankful that he is who he is. That he can be strong and vulnerable, but always kind.
I'm thankful too for my relationship with him. That we've chosen to work together, that all of our "arguments" end up with better understanding and that we pull as a team. That we can take turns being the strong capable one, that we can take turns being needy. That we know when we are both at low ebb that it is temporary.
For my parents... who are a rock and an example and a haven for not only me, but for all we call family. They've gone above and beyond the call this year, without complaint.
For my mother in law, whose presence here has wrought so many changes. However much sadness in the why of her being here, the fact of her presence has changed many things completely.
For my sister and her husband, who make me laugh and drive me crazy and remind me what it was like to be in my early 20's and trying to figure it all out.

Date: 2005-11-23 09:20 pm (UTC)I am thankful for my gamer family
I am thankful for my Collective, which loves me with all their hearts
I am thankful for my far flung family, who I miss and still pray about
I am thankful for all this, and more. For my family is composed also of all my friends, and you are a part of it.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Date: 2005-11-23 09:36 pm (UTC)I am thankful for my friends. Thankful for people who love and accept me for who I am. Thankful for every kind touch and word... more thankful than I can ever say.
I am thankful for Imran, who has been so kind and wonderful answering my every German question. He has the patience of a saint. Who but a saint would be willing to say Zwölf hundreds of times and never makes me feel bad for it?
I am thankful that I will be soon living in a place so beautiful I can't even believe it.
I am thankful for German music, without which I would not know nearly as many German words.
I am thankful that my dog is still alive.
I am thankful for my voice.
I am thankful for my laughter.
I am thankful for whatever it is that lives in my head whispering stories into my ear.
I am thankful for that chances I have had to help people.
I am thankful to be alive.
I am thankful to be me.

Date: 2005-11-24 06:41 am (UTC)I am thankful for my amazing Sis, who'll be moving to Indiana to follow a real, serious Job that she has worked so hard to get, and everything she's given me in these last several years.
I am thankful for my Computer, which has allowed me to connect to the outside world, and know that I am not alone.
I am thankful for what health I ave, and if I could lose some of my own damn weight, I might even be able to find a girl. Someday. Maybe...I hope.
I am thankful for the fact that I am going to college in the hopes of a better future for myself.
I am thankful for the Letters M,E,J, And K, without which I would not have any of my names.
I am further thankful to the number 42, which now makes me smile every time I hear someone say it.
I am thankful for Corn Chips, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Sprite (Tm) And all the other wonderful foodstuffs which prevent me from gaining weight, but always make me a little happier.
I am thankful in measures that can not be made that I live in this great old lug of a land I call my home.
I am thankful for the sacrafices so many people around me make every day to help make my life and the lives of others better. (Here's to you Cops, Firemen and Nurses!)
But most of all, I am thankful that I love and am loved by my most bodacious family.
And that's all I really need.
Yesterday
Date: 2005-11-25 11:40 pm (UTC)I'm thankful for my sister, who was more complicated and interesting than I gave her credit for, and whose time here was too short.
I'm thankful for my friends, who were there for me and mine through one of the worst years ever.
I'm thankful to have a decent job with people who want me to be the best I can be.
And I'm thankful for LJ for providing a fascinating new world of communication and the potential for new friends.
