Got all my errands done, finally went and saw Chicken Little (a quite solid and fun film with nothing offensive for the kids and more than enough jokes for the adults), and had a lovely North Carolina BBQ sandwich (with a side of mustard slaw, and those of you who really know me well will be flabbergasted at my mmmm-MM). And the song work is going well.

We're supposed to get 1-6" of snow tonight and tomorrow, depending on who you talk to, but I'm ready. Salt trucks permitting, I'm gonna go see King Kong for the first time Thursday.

So, how's your day going?

I woke up much earlier than I intended, tired but not sleepy, so I had breakfast and wrote a little political parable. Right about then, my brain stopped bouncing around and said "we only got 5 hours of sleep, let's go back to bed", so I did. Slept through the speech Bush was supposed to give, which probably saved me throwing things at the radio. I half woke up again a little before noon, and made myself get out of bed even though I didn't want to. Now I've had lunch and I'm trying to sort out what I'm going to try to accomplish this afternoon and hoping that the roads aren't so bad that I'll have to forego my evening plans to save my life. (We're on the snow/rain borderline here, and if that turns into freezing rain, driving is not a survival-oriented activity.)

I've been posting quite in a frenzy today, and it pretty much covers things... aside from that, I've kept my mind off of my problems with Hero System. I'm preparing to run a play-by-post Dark Champions game -- assuming I get enough interest (Open Casting Call for Players (http://delayra.livejournal.com/224295.html))

I have to know: Where did you find *good* NC barbque and mustard slaw in MI!??? (One of the few things I miss about living in "The South" is the food.)

Bwahaha. Zingerman's Roadhouse -- in this case, specifically, their drive-up trailer in the parkinglot, the Roadshow. They also do a very, very good St. Louis style, but the Eastern NC recipe is aces.

Well, I was gonna put up the link to Mitchell's BBQ, the place Zing's got their recipe from, because they do mail-order... but the site is down. Dunno why; hope they're not out of business. There must be other places that'll do mail-order.

I've been doing OK. I had two final exams today, but I did much better than I thought I would. Plus I finally got GIMP for OS X to work on my computer, which makes me happy. Thanks for asking.

Heh. Gotta try GIMP one of these days. I love Photoshop 6, and I feel no real need to upgrade... but, whenever possible, I've been going open-source. I might eventually just set up one boot disk for Linux and go wild, if the existing music software expands its feature set just a touch.

Loonux is the debul! Go BSD! :)

I messed with Gimp a while back, and found myself going back to Photoshop every time. I'm not exactly sure if its just because I'm lazy and tend to prefer to use things I'm familiar with, or that I just didn't like it, or that Photoshop is just the only Buick Sized Flyswatter(tm) one needs to do their graphic editing.

9 dozen mint truffels rolled into balls last night, and trying to get the incentive to start on the next flavor. Not sure which I want to do though, one of the booze truffels, or one of the fancy ones, like Strawberry, which is going to be strawberry shaped, or cherry which will be layered with plain chocolate truffel dough and cut in squares.

My work-from-home day mutated into +because-I'm-sick. Joy.

Tomorrow is the work party, and I want to go, but don't know if I'll be better. I have to try to be there, I'm runnning one of the contests.

And I have this great gift for the gift exchange that I've been sitting on since this summer. No, it isn't any worse for wear, but it does need to be wrapped up tonight.

Oh, and it's a potluck and I'm thinking of making my pineapple rice recipe. Mmmmm.

Boring, but you did ask ;) Have a cute icon to laugh at, instead.

I'm doing my first load of laundry in my new condo. I won't actually be able to live there until my matress arrives (Saturday the latest, supposedly), still, figured I might as well break the place in, so to speak.

ran my butt off at work, as per usual, becuase of the people who DID bother to show up for work, i was once more leading the minority, that being those who not only showed up but chose to actually do some working.
i'm so dissatisfied with my job lately. but at least i'll have the smug satisfaction of going back a month or so after i quit, just as a shopper, with a reasonable expectation of management begging me to come back to work.
