Change I Cannot Believe In
Dec. 11th, 2009 04:02 pmI am so fucking sick of the political news lately that I don't even want to discuss it. Short form, Obama has gone from the Audacity of Hope to just Audacity. No, not because of the Nobel Prize and his speech about why he increased the number of troops in Afghanistan.
The health care mess.
The gay rights mess.
The economic mess.
The mess.
Anybody want to discuss it, go ahead and be polite. I haven't got the stomach to do either right now.

Date: 2009-12-12 08:28 am (UTC)I disagree. I speak like a MAN who understands that YOUR reproductive freedom and YOUR physical autonomy are things that you are born with and that historically, governments have removed them from you when you reached maturity.
There have been abortions and free women for thousands of years--generally they've occurred in cultures that no longer had a premium on birthrate. As soon as that changed, though--WHAP--all of the strictures were back on. How was it enforced? Goons empowered by whoever happens to be ruling that state.
And as far as party affiliation goes (and I have none), it's irrelevant in the early 21st. I mean, seriously, last time I checked, Bart Stupak was the Democratic Representative from Michigan's First.
