filkertomI've got some orders to get out,
And some laundry to get clean,
I've got to go to Leslie's house
And make sure she ain't turned green.

huskiebear ain't feeling well,
And she's had a real rough time,
So I'll make sure she doesn't lose
What she had for Auld Lang Syne.
My lady Anne will be on call,
So I'll talk to her by phone,
And visit her tomorrow so
We can twitch more 'bout King Kong.
If weather is permitting and
My body's feeling fine,
I'll shlep out to the Claytons
For this year's Auld Lang Syne.
It's been a wild Two Thousand Five,
And for some it's been damn rough,
Remember, though, we're here to help
Each other through this stuff.
If you'll tell me your hopes for next year,
I will tell you mine,
And you don't even have to make it
Scan to "Auld Lang Syne".
I hope to get two albums out,
And I hope you'll think they're slick,
Girl Genius, Sounds Familiar, and
The revised Stupid Filk Tricks.
I hope to lose some frickin' weight,
And expand the SmithTune line,
And try not to procrastinate
Until next year's Auld Lang Syne.
I probably will not attend
Quite as many cons this year,
But there will prob'ly be at least
Fourteen where I will appear.
And naturally, I'll be right here,
With all my friends online,
Be safe and well, I love you all,
Here's to many Auld Lang Syne!

2005 had been a year
that nearly struck me blind
I hope to get my ass in gear
In time for Auld Lang Syne.
I asked myself what I would do
for the year that's yet to come
And then I had a drink or ten
I will work hard for my son.
The years will come and go, my friend
I hope my dreams may shine
May songs and food flow with no end
