A bit early, but this is too good not to have up now. See, I have not been a fan of this particular song... until now.

I agree. The song is much better when Sandler is not singing it. (Is it me or does anyone else find Sandler's acting, singing, and comedic skills sorely lacking?)

... It's definitely not just you. I can even understand what is being said in this version. I have to turn off the Sandler version.

Agreed. Bad all of the above. A friend of mine is trying to get me to watch 'Anger Management' and I'm so reluctant because he's in it.

Thank the FSM. The only Sandler song I thought was funny was "Ode to My Car" and that was because Dr.Demento changed all the swearing to care sound FX. I just don't get the appeal of what he does.

Thanks for posting the Neil Diamond version. It's so much better than the original.

I won't claim he's a genius, but I have enjoyed some of his comedic skits and most of the songs he's written.

I've always had a soft spot for Neil Diamond, 'cause he was my Nan's very *favorite*. Now I like him twice as much. :)

I'm glad Neil Diamond has finally come out with a Hanukkah song, even if it's Adam Sandler's. That being said, it'd be nice to see more Hanukkah music. I've been inundated with Christmas music this year since mid-October.

Only since Mid-October?

The places I go to have been playing it since just after Labor Day...

Okay, really? Neat! Good version.
Sandler just gets to sloppy with his own version.

That is SO COOL! I've been a Neil Diamond fan since I was in high school, and was... flabbergasted, that's the word... when he did that Christmas album a while back. This is so much better! And the animation is terrific, too.

Now, if he would only do an album of Hanukkah songs, whether old or new (as in, maybe he could write some?).

I realize he probably had to in order to keep up his family-friendly image, but I'm not too fond of the "don't" before "smoke your marajuanaka".

The other lyric change (replacing Tom Cruise's agent with Jesus) I agree with though *heh*

Oh my Zod! That was actually the best song for Channukah I've ever heard... pity I don't celebrate it anymore.

I...they...what.

I spose I'm in the minority but I've always got a kick out of that song. Though I wish Neil had recorded the v.2 lyrics as well ("Lenny Kravitz is half Jewish... Courtney Love is too... put them together, what a FUNKY BAD-ASS JEW!")

My mind is just kinda blown that that's really Neil Diamond. It's like hearing Amy Grant cover Weird Al or something.

But then I've always been fond of weird covers.
