But...but...but... Harry Potter will have to change the costume he's wearing under his Hogwarts robes when he breaks up with Ginny...:D

Personally I like this ADULT Harry the best :D

Yeah. And Bruce Wayne is permanently going to not be Batman, and Superman is permanently dead, and so is Dr. Doom because surely "no one could have survived THAT!"

I understand Spidey's been around a good, long while. I know they have continuing plotlines and that people and times do change. But you know, when this Civil War plotline in Marvel is done, the red and blue tights will return. (shrug) Betcha my No-Prize.

Actually, as soon as the costume was revealed, if not before, Marvel was straight up about it being temporary and plot-related. They're hyping, but they're not pulling the "OMG it's PERMANENT!" shtick you're citing.

Hmm. It's butt-ugly, but I'm not that bothered because ... well, I don't really think Tony's that great a visual designer, so it makes sense, doesn't it? (Don't get my wrong, I love Tony's own costume, but ... it's not Christian Dior. Or Steve Ditko.)

I guess they didn't learn anything from the outcry when WB "updated" the Tiny Tunes gang and made them grittier, anime superheroes. This new spider will be squashed by the same audience dislike that so shocked WB.

I can't wait to see the modernized "Charlotte's Web"...

The sad part is, I like the costume. The design's very nice. But, y'know, that isn't Spiderman's colours. Add the gold? Sure. But don't use it to replace the blue entirely. :/

Spider-Choad, Spider-Choad
Dig the sensory overload
Costumed by committee
Results are guaranteed shitty

Oh, crap…
Here comes the Spider-Choad!

GAG! GAG! GAG!

Does he suck? Listen, lad
Ray Charles could see this is bad
The third movie won’t sell
Now that tradition’s shot to Hell

Alas…
Here comes the Spider-Choad!

Stan Lee and Kirby
Gave the world a hero
Marvel’s new writers
Reduced it to zero

Spider-Choad, Spider-Choad
Abomination to behold
Maybe someone will sue
And we’ll get back the red & blue
‘Til then…
Resist the urge to throw-up
When the new issues show up
Featuring…

SPIDER-CHOAD!

It'll be around for a while. Folks'll get annoyed, and write nasty letters. Then the new suit will get trashed in a fight. Spidey will have to go back to hius blue and reds while the new thing is out of commission, or else swing around town even more stark naked ("Look ma, a *real* Iron Man!"). In the process, he'll learn that he'd become dependant on the suit, and is better off without it. Or somesuch.

So Spidey went through a transporter malfunction with Iron Man and Doc Ock?

They've changed the costume before, they'll change it again. It makes a nice break every once in a while, but it'll be back to the ol red and blue before long.

Hey, if nothing else, it'll be easy to pick out in a collage of Spidey outfits.

Aaaand this is what happens when you have Tony Stark design your costume. Yo, Tony... there's more colors than Red and Gold!

I really can't see this design lasting too long. It's a nice design, tho, but it doesn't really say Spiderman to me. Maybe with some recolors to Red and Blue? I don't know... I just... don't know.
