Okay, this is the best Cheney-related wording so far:
Cheney Apparently Breaks Key Hunting Rule
That would be the one about Do Not Shoot Your Hunting Buddy In The Face.

Seriously, what asshat cleared that headline?

Please feel free to add any other good ones you find.

Re: blogging, there has been a lot of good work today, along with a huge-ass amount of inspired snark, but The Place To Be is FireDogLake.

I thought it was, "Always eat what you shoot."

Maybe I'm just bitter (well, okay, no "maybe" about it)... But I think Cheney did this just to prove he could get away with it.

For those what haven't seen it, tonight's Daily Show is available in QuickTime and Windows Media. Thank invisible supernatural father figure for the Internet, I dozed off at 6.30 (just before it aired) and awoke at 1.30 (just as the rebroadcast ended). I don't know if these are the entire episodes or just the salient bits, but the QT version is 15Mb.

Thanks for the link, this show will be a keeper!

Favorite line, "What kind of hunting story starts with 'The got out of the car'?"

And for Cheney breaking hunting laws, turns out he neglected to pay the $7 fee. His penalty for breaking the law, paying a $7 fine. *Sheesh*

Grew up and lived in the middle of hunting areas most of my life. Never went hunting myself, always thought it was boring and too one-sided (we have guns, the critters had, um, bernaise sauce), but from people I know who did hunt, the most sissified, amateur, poseur thing to do was to drive around looking for game instead of walking through the forest or brush. And those who went to the pen-raised, wings-clipped, overweight slaughter farms certainly weren't hunters.

Not good. Unemployed, burned out, sinking. But I have some good friends (scattered all over the world, none local), still enjoy cooking (more than a few people tell me I eat better on $30 a week than they do on $30 a day), and thanks to the net there's always something interesting to find when things get really down (such as playing World of Warcraft with a canadian friend).

And, of course, there's a lot of Tom Smith music on my iPod.

Yeah, I've been mostly unemployed for the last five years, getting only enough contract work to get me from month to month. Le sigh. But at least there's that. You still up in the rainforest?

Rainforest? I moved from Spokane, a far cry from a rainforest, to a place near Seattle when my job moved. Then they closed it down, and I haven't even been able to get contract work, been using up my IRAs. While it is wet (we just finished three weeks of rain, a new record! yay) it's no forest.

Well, whadya know... Cheney Cited for Breaking Hunting Law... oh, wait. Not the law against shooting someone and not notifying law enforcement immediately, the one about not having a hunting stamp. Well, hell, judging by the standards the GOP used when they attempted their coup d'état against President Clinton, this should enough of an infraction to warrant immediate resignation and then jail time.

Jay Leno let off a string of about 50 jokes in under 3 minutes. One I remember was that because the person whom Cheney shot is a lawyer his public ratings are now up 90%.

Since the other hunter was wearing orange Cheney thought that he was a gay quail. Putting Cheney on the US triathalon team. Cheney is the worst shot in the White House since Clinton. And the new Cheney brand cologne: Duck.
