Dennis Weaver Passes Away

Man, it's been a rough weekend. Dennis Weaver, known as Chester on Gunsmoke, the hapless driver pursued by an evil truck in Spielberg's Duel, and of course Sam McCloud, has passed away at the age of 81.

"Duel" is one of the all time best small films ever made. And it basically a one man show. Probably his finest acting job.

I was very saddened to hear of this. He's the third celebrity to die in a couple of days (after Darrin McGavin and Don Knots). Hmmm...all their first names started with D....eeep....
