So far, so good. Really good, actually. My concert went pretty well, and before that I was hanging out in the hall near registration, burning CD-Rs and making sales and being silly 'n' stuff. Many nice people, a few hugs, an occasional surprise (I'd completely forgotten that [livejournal.com profile] jss1113 lived in the area, until he came up and said Hi), and just a good time. Good crowd for the show, and I'll do some more later tonight after [livejournal.com profile] lukeski's set. Many, many thanks to Earl, the guy in charge of the Dementia Music track, for service above and beyond the call.

How are you all doin'?

I'm having a night. Just read the journal entries.

Beyond that, I'm living original Tom & Jerry cartoons as much as ever right now. :)

<laughs aloud> Ok, this is kinda funny...

Point the first: I've wanted to see a live concert of yours, again, ever since that great performance at DucKon all those years ago...

Point the second: I live in Minnesota; about six blocks north of the edge of Minneapolis.

Point the third: I really like MarsCon!

Point the fourth: I forgot it was this weekend...

Point the fifth: I was so burned out at work, this week, that -well- I'm writing this from far North in Minnesota, having taken the day (and most of the weekend) to immerse myself in the great outdoors (http://joshuwain.livejournal.com/522974.html)...

So, since I'm not there bein' able to listen to your filk, please enjoy the Twin Cities, Tom! :) In the interim, I'm hopin' to explore Duluth a bit, tomorrow... Maybe you'll come to CONvergence some time; ask Luke Ski about it!

Take care, have fun, and -er- don't hold it against this poor geek that he forgot a con in his own backyard! <chuckles>

Yours,
Sylvan (Dave)

You betcha! I'm checking out of the hotel in about 15 minutes and -then- it's off to Duluth. I think I'll try to find the Edmund Fitzgerald Memorial... Take care and enjoy my hometown!

I'd guess that Tom could easily get a slot to perform at in the Harmonic ConVergence room, but he'd most likely have to pay for his own travel & room expenses. But yeah, ConVergence, the party-est of all party cons. If Tom can make the drive, I think he'd have fun and the crowd would love him. :)

Well, we're a very loving crowd...! :)

Hopefully I'll see you there, this year! (I just run Gaming; I rarely get out to see the rest of the con...)

I had hoped to come to Marscon to get to meet you this weekend, but both my sons got sick, so I'm home taking care of them instead. Hopefully I'll get to see you next time you come to town.

Not precisely sure when that'll be, but I'll be at Duckon (http://www.duckon.org/) in June. Hope the kids get better quick.

I'm rather interesting. Had a fever all day, which meant I couldn't go see West Wing film. Sadness. On the other hand, the boyfriend and the roommate took care of me all day -- and then yelled at me for going outside for dinner without telling them. I think I might end up getting grounded.

Spring Break, baby!

Of course, for me, Spring Break means I go home to sit Shiva for a friend of mine tomorrow, then spend a few days at home (including a dentistry appointment) before a friend and I head to Atlantic City for a night, then I come back and get a royal ass-kicking by the work I didn't do...

But hey, Spring Break!

I spent the day at MarsCon and got to surprise [livejournal.com profile] filkertom by wandering up to him in the lobby. And had fun at a couple of panels and many filk concerts, including [livejournal.com profile] lukeski's and [livejournal.com profile] shoebox's, as well as [livejournal.com profile] filkertom's main concert, auxiliary concert, and his and [livejournal.com profile] lukeski's filler during the Masquerade intermission. And now, I'm home (missed the snow, just had some hail en route), it's nearly 2am, and I'm gonna collapse.

I had fun AT your concert!

And your impromptu concert, stalling for time for the Masquerade.

This really has been worth the trip, for the most part. :)

Glad to hear it. And, it looks as if the snow won't be that bad (he said with false optimism, but whaddaya gonna do).

Shouldn't be that bad. AN inch of wet stuff, but MN DOT generally has their act together. (I, of course, drive a low-mass rear-wheel drive car, however, which tends to handle... iffily in icy conditions.)

The roads were very little like you described by the time we bugged out. You shoulda stayed a few hours while the MNDOT folks had their way with the salt trucks. Ah, well. Everyone's home safe, that's the important bit.
