MillenniCon Wrap-Up
Mar. 19th, 2006 05:57 pmBack home. Both Les and I are very tired. Con was very nice as usual, but external issues kept me from getting enough rest. I hope it didn't show up too badly, except in my not being at the filk last night. (The Cindy McQuillin tribute on Friday was awkward -- I was anticipating a few more singers joining me, and I knew they would have the lyrics I couldn't find online... and it ended up being pretty much me for the first half-hour. It finally devolved into an open filk, but it was still awkward. My fault, and thanks for everyone's patience.)
My concert on Saturday afternoon went all right, I thought, although I wiped myself out. One half of the room seemed strangely silent. It might've just been me.
Masquerade was fun. Grant Johnson came out to "Rocket Ride" as a li'l astronaut. The next kid was an adorable fairy princess. Several other very good costumes, and the wonderful Julie Washington won Best of Show for her D.A.D.A. Instructor, Luxor Shacklebolt.
Luke and I did, combined, nearly an hour during the judging. (Poor guy was late to his own concert.) Silly stuff, lots of fun.
Saw lots of good people, although I'm getting worried about Bill Levy. Please take care of yourself, my friend. And Juanita was there, and Larry Smith, and Mary Alice and Gary from Dark Star, and Rachel, and Janet and Dan and Beth, and Julie and Bob, and Renee and her new beau Kevin, and Karen and her sister Mary, and Michael, and Duryea, and Jim and Theresa and Mark, and of course especially Christy and Ruby and Pat and Celeste and the other Mark and ever-damn-body else whose name is escaping me at the moment. Hugs to you all.
Oh, and, I'll be there again next year. :)
This coming weekend: MidSouthCon.
And how went your weekend? If you were at the con, did you have fun? (Especially if I neglected to name you up above, remind me so I can get you in there.)
