Back home. Both Les and I are very tired. Con was very nice as usual, but external issues kept me from getting enough rest. I hope it didn't show up too badly, except in my not being at the filk last night. (The Cindy McQuillin tribute on Friday was awkward -- I was anticipating a few more singers joining me, and I knew they would have the lyrics I couldn't find online... and it ended up being pretty much me for the first half-hour. It finally devolved into an open filk, but it was still awkward. My fault, and thanks for everyone's patience.)

My concert on Saturday afternoon went all right, I thought, although I wiped myself out. One half of the room seemed strangely silent. It might've just been me.

Masquerade was fun. Grant Johnson came out to "Rocket Ride" as a li'l astronaut. The next kid was an adorable fairy princess. Several other very good costumes, and the wonderful Julie Washington won Best of Show for her D.A.D.A. Instructor, Luxor Shacklebolt.

Luke and I did, combined, nearly an hour during the judging. (Poor guy was late to his own concert.) Silly stuff, lots of fun.

Saw lots of good people, although I'm getting worried about Bill Levy. Please take care of yourself, my friend. And Juanita was there, and Larry Smith, and Mary Alice and Gary from Dark Star, and Rachel, and Janet and Dan and Beth, and Julie and Bob, and Renee and her new beau Kevin, and Karen and her sister Mary, and Michael, and Duryea, and Jim and Theresa and Mark, and of course especially Christy and Ruby and Pat and Celeste and the other Mark and ever-damn-body else whose name is escaping me at the moment. Hugs to you all.

Oh, and, I'll be there again next year. :)

This coming weekend: MidSouthCon.

And how went your weekend? If you were at the con, did you have fun? (Especially if I neglected to name you up above, remind me so I can get you in there.)

T - 5 days and counting...

Well, I was trying to tie up a bajillion loose ends, running in 3 directions at once, and generally trying not to have a mental breakdown...IOW, a normal final weekend before the aforementioned MidSouthCon (http://www.midsouthcon.org) :) :).

Kidding aside, it was a pretty nice weekend - a little wet, but a nice gentle steady rain is pleasant to go to sleep to :). And I figured I might as well get as much as possible, as sleep will be a short commodity for the next week or so :). Of course Wednesday night I'm gonna be like that kid (and his dad) in the current Walt Disney commercial - "I can't go to sleep...I'm too excited!" :) :)

Since you asked how the weekend went....

Lunacon was fun... :) Lots of good filk with many east coast filkers present along with a California member of Lady Montegreen (good group, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO CATCH!!!!).

I was recording the concerts (a couple of the filkers are working on their 1st/2nd CD and the recordings were for them. LMG recordings are given to them to work with.) Boogie Knights was good to listen to in the open filk on Sat night.

Tiring east coast con... Since you had Larry Smith, we had Sally. :) (He is supposed to be at I-CON (NY) next week. Your name was suggested as a guest to invite again to the person who has inherited the filk track for someone to invite back... Hopefully they listen to the hint.)

Well, I was there and I enjoyed myself, as did the family. I must admit the boys thought it was cool you sang a song for them at the Open Filk on Fri. (the kids munching on their crunchies)

ps we were on the active side of the audience.
