Start Saving Your Snarkblats

What's your favorite bit, or bits, from TLM? Song, scene, particular animated bit, whatever. I admit I could just pick the whole movie and have done, but Under The Sea and Kiss The Girl are amazing, and the beautiful, awful bit where Ariel has just found out Eric is getting married to the disguised Ursula, and stands with her back pressed against the pillar unable to catch her breath, is wonderfully realized.

Date: 2006-03-26 08:37 pm (UTC)As for my favorite...Ugh, hard to pick, particularly since it's been years since I've seen it (we don't have a VCR I'd trust with my tape in it), but Under The Sea and Kiss The Girl are good picks. :)

Date: 2006-03-26 10:55 pm (UTC)One of my favorite scenes is Skuttle trying to figure out what was different about Ariel. Sebastian: "She's got legs, you eediot! She traded her voice to the sea witch and got legs! Jeez Mon!" teehee

You say that your new I D E
is quicker than compile and make.
You want to use a huge new language.
But that is a big mistake.
You see all those car computers?
They make the cars quick and spry.
But get some timing collision,
and lotsa machines will die.
Under the C.
Under the C.
We're writing code and it's ala mode, yes
under the C!
Whaddaya got? Some C plus plus?
The binary's 'nuff to crush a bus!
Our code is slicker and runs much quicker
under the C!

Possibly a feature on why they hired Ashman & Menken, which would likely touch on "Little Shop". At least one set-top game for kids age 3-8.

Date: 2006-03-26 11:57 pm (UTC)I absolutely love Ariel exploring the land, with all the sea creatures going, "Have they kissed yet?" "Not yet..."
My second favorite bit is how my then-boyfriend groused over and over about being dragged to see it, and laughed himself silly the whole way through. :)

Date: 2006-03-27 07:54 am (UTC)My FAVORITE part of the movie was the video box, with Ariel staring at Eric's crotch, Eric staring at Ariel's boobs, and in the background the castle tower shaped like an enormous penis.
Somehow I doubt they'll use the same thing for the new DVD cover, though.

Date: 2006-03-27 06:56 pm (UTC)The complexity and mix of humor and romance in "Kiss the Girl" stick in my mind. The little details really stand out in TLM.
btw, yesterday the church I went to included Ursula in the sermon.
