Well, he'd darned well better be! He's kind of crucial in this one...and I really didn't want to see another actor fill his shoes.

Now, will Buckbeak be back as well?

I was surprised he *hadn't* before now. But they seem to be taking their time about signing people for this one...don't know what's up with that. :p

Two items of approximately equal weight for me --

1) Cool! Continuity of characters is a very good thing. I understand WB recasting Dumbledore; it's kinda difficult to have a dead guy play a live role, but as much as possible, the same character in the same series (or story universe, such as the several recent Marvel Comics movies) should be portrayed by the same actor. <jaundiced eye toward the makers of the several Batman films>

2) That link has popups. Not your fault, not your responsibility; I will not be visiting that site again if I can help it, though. I do not like computer spam; I do not like it, Sam-I-Am; I do not like it in my case; I do not like it anyplace.

Sorry. Im using Firefox with Adblock and the Filterset.G, which nukes just about all popups. I also have Messenger turned off, if you have Windows. (Not Instant Messenger, the internal Messenger service.)

Sorry...

I run HPANA, and I do truly apologize for the pop-ups, but the site don't run itself for free. I had five-digit expenses last year alone. All of the large Harry Potter sites have ads - we're all just "normal" people running what accidentally became monstrous web sites and have to cope with it!

Since I hate pop-ups as much as the next guy, I made sure there was a way out. Our members have the option of donating $10 to have ads disabled for an entire year (a much better deal for them than it is for the site).

Goodness! Welcome, and thanks for clearing that up.

Y'know, I honestly hadn't thought about it in that light.

I still will probably be avoiding the website, because I still don't like popups -- but now I'm doing it to keep bandwidth, and thus costs, down a little bit as well as avoiding something I really don't care for. It seems like a reasonable trade, to me.

I'm only telling you because you were honestly the straw the broke the camel's back... We've dropped pop-ups/unders from HPANA completely! We needed the extra revenue during the launches of book 6 and movie 4 last year, but now that traffic has calmed down, and I made some adjustments to other ad placements on the site, I decided to get rid of them.

Thanks for the encouragement and I hope you'll visit in the future! :)

I thought typically when they sign an actor for a movie with a strong chance of sequels (like Harry Potter is), they sign them for the length of the series. I mean, we haven't heard much out of any X-Men actors...

I suspect that, as he only had a few films to do and they were kinda vague as to when they'd be doing them, he went on a per-film basis out of sheer career expediency. Jason Isaacs probably has the same kind of deal, but I'd imagine they have Ralph Fiennes nailed for 5 and 7.
