I've been running a Yuletide Youtube (http://valarltd.livejournal.com/tag/yuletide+youtube) feature at my LJ all month.

Very nice! And there were only two that I'd intended to do (although thanks for reminding me of "Christmas In Killarney"), the Grinch and (obviously) Der Bingle/Bowie.

I can't embed it, but I always listen to this one on Christmas.

*snif* Good one. I know the story... but it's more powerful with Garth singing it.

Indeed - I found myself choking up as I watched him singing it with tears in his eyes.

Oldie but still terrific:

And finally, the end of my favorite Christmas animation:

Finestkind. On any given day, my fave will either be Breathed or Schultz; both are awesome.

One more that I almost forgot:

That's one of my favorites. I hadn't realized it was written so recently. So beautiful.

Springsteen's "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" (you can skip forward a minute or 2) :

Boris Karloff singing "You're A Mean One, Mr Grinch" (the soundtrack of The Grinch was released on CD and this is the one I play most often ;) :

Love love love the Springsteen. Also love the Grinch (I was going to put it up tomorrow). I do have to mention, however, that, while Karloff does the narration, the singing is by the magnificent Thurl Ravenscroft.

You have to admit Thurl Ravenscroft is an awesome name. Almost mad scientistish in a way.

That's what I get for trusting YouTube instead of looking it up on the soundtrack! :(

They...made a live action version?

I had no idea this was so popular. It seems like it only came on the scene last year. Prior to that I had never heard of "The Year Without Santa Claus" before.

Nice selection!
I think someone already may have posted it, but the local guy who synchronized his lights to TSO's Wizards in Winter is still one of my fave vids.

Yep, redaxe posted it further up.

Well, I've got a few, the first two of which were in the comments in a previous thread. I've enjoyed this one since 2006, when I was introduced to it:

And that led to this from this year (with thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ann_totusek):

In a different vein, I'm fond of these as well:

And of course it wouldn't be xmas without the Wet Spots:
