It looks as if WWE intends to revive the ECW brand.

I'm still way pissed at WWE.

And, if they do it, and pull Paul Heyman out of OVW to run it, what will happen to the excellent OVW crew? Will they hire back Jim Cornete, or someone else to book it? Will they move some of the workers to WWE and some to ECW? Will it go bye-bye?

Even though it'll have Vince's taint all over it (not literally, but heck...you never know with McMahon these days), the revised ECW might do well.

But I'll stick with my Super Smash Bros. and Soul Calibur for good matches.

Although I did find this tape from months ago, of the Smackdown tribute show for Eddie Guerrero. That was actual wrestling (Wrestling? On a wrestling show? The heck you say!) that reminded me of why I started watching this stuff back around middle school.

But this match coming up at a PPV is reminding me of why I don't order WWE ppvs anymore (tag team match with Vince and Shane, vs...oh man, I don't wanna say it; makes me lose IQ points just thinking about the fact that it's gonna happen)

Anyway, ECW might do well. I'll still stick with TNA and HBO boxing.

I don't think OVW will disappear; it's been too valuable to Titan Sports as a farm federation.

I also don't think Vince will take back Jim Cornette, at least not without major rehab, considering his penchant for abusing his workers.

I have also been more than a bit surprised to hear that in the very, very small print of the recent TNA Wrestling ads, one is supposed to be able to see "WWE presents..."

That's nice, Vince. If you need me I'll be over here watching TNA and UFC.

I don't watch the WWE anymore. My husband remains hopeful: "Ray Ray just got the championship! It's getting better!" But then they cut to Vince McMahon fisting Jim Ross, or talk about how Lita (once an awesome wrestler) just gave Vince oral sex to get her boyfriend a better match, or listen to Shane talking worshipfully about his father's semen and I just want to make the trip out to WWE headquarters and strangle the entire booking committee.

Hi, I'm Nicole, and I'm a wrestling fan. And according to the WWE, since I have a set of female organs and two brain cells to rub together, I don't actually exist. Yeah, I'm bitter.

I genuinely have no idea who Vince thinks his audience is at this point. I don't follow wrestling for sexual perversion, hypocritical moralizing, out-of-control narcissicm, and superstitious mumbo-jumbo -- if I want that, I'll follow Republican politics. Thank you! I'm here all week.

Seriously, which section of the market, exactly, is the Boogeyman supposed to appeal to? Why do they have Lita act like a slut? Why do they have all the women act like sluts and/or psychos? A few years ago, Fit Finlay rebuilt the Raw women's division from the ground up, and it was great -- fun personalities, very little bullshit, and a stable of about eight competent female wrestlers who you wanted to watch for their wrestling. (Trish Stratus became infinitely more attractive to me when she covered up her assets and boobsets and learned how to actually work in the ring.)

For the sake of the workers and the wrestling fans, I hope the ECW revival works. But I ain't holdin' my breath.

Seriously, which section of the market, exactly, is the Boogeyman supposed to appeal to?

That's just it, he wasn't SUPPOSED to appeal to anyone!

The guy who plays Boogeyman (I forget his name) was a candidate on Tough Enough (2? 3? Who even CARES, any more?) who was disqualified for lying about his age (he's 40). The problem is, a lot of people who watched Tough Enough felt he got screwed because the guy had personality and was in pretty good physical shape.

So, in spite (the WWE acting spiteful? Say it ain't so!), they signed the guy up to an OVW contract, gave him the most rediculous gimmick they could think of, and unleashed him onto WWE, where they figured the fans would laugh him out of the building, thereby vindicating the producers of Tough Enough for giving him the boot in the first place.

But the plan BACKFIRED!

The fans ATE IT UP!

And now... They have no idea what to do with the guy.
