So Steve Jackson, who is a very silly man, was apparently listening to And They Say I've Got Talent over the weekend.

And he started finding things that work with "Rock Me Amadeus".

And I was in a silly mood this morning. (Direct download here.)

It's great. The only thing I wished I could have heard was "Katamari" at a segment end, so there'd be a few "na na na na na naaa naaaa"s in the background, akin to the "llama llama" or "Oingo Boingo" ones. But then, I'm a big Katamari fan.

It was getting elaborate, and I didn't want to take too long. ("We record more before 9:00 am than most musicians record all day!") On the other hand, y'never know....

This just popped into my head:

"It is a video game for the PS2
Where you're the Cosmos Prince, and what you have to do
Is roll up everything that you can see
Into a big star-replacing katamari!

Katamari, Katamari...(etc)
Roll me katamari!"

These instructions are for PC only.

When you load the page, either the song will start playing in your browser (if you have a Firefox plug-in) or Windows Media Player will load (if you're on IE).

If it plays in your browser: select "Save Page As..." from the File menu.

If it plays in WMP: Select "Save As..." from the File menu in WMP.

Oh, and the best part for me would have to be the riff on the llama song. I didn't catch it at first, rewound the tune, and turned up the volume.

There was much laughter commencing.

Awesome, Tom. I'm also a fan of the "llama llama". ;)

Didn't you once say that Barenaked Ladies "One Week" was the easiest/best song to filk to? I think you've beaten that record with "Amadeus" now, but I'm not sure. ;)

Not sure, but both have to be in my Top Ten, along with "House of the Rising Sun", "Greensleeves", and, frighteningly enough, "My Unicorn Song", which turns out to have a nearly perfect generic melody and structure.
