I've loved that tune ever since I first heard it a couple of months ago.
If you guys would be willing to do it, I will talk to the people running Philcon about having you come to perform it. I just MIGHT be able to talk them into it. (I have a little pull... I'm on the programming committee. I even made up a panel last year called "Rich Fantasy Lives", that partiallyclips moderated.)
I actually went to PhilCon last year to record Dr. SETI's concert so I could include "Computer Chanty" on Technobabble. I'd love to return as a performer myself. I can't speak for the rest of the guys but I'm sure they'd be interested as well.
At this point I believe the song is probably unbeatable for the year. While it's still mathematically possible for some song to come along and dethrone it I think that's unlikely.
Chances are high that both "Weird Al" Yankovic and Worm Quartet are releasing albums this year, either of them could possibly dethrone Lemon Demon. Also, I'm working a new song that I hope to have to Dr. D within a couple weeks, I hope. Who knows, it could be a hit. *crosses fingers*
Ha! Great! Glad you posted it, as it's the first I've heard of it.
This reminds me of those fights cartoonists used to have, where one would draw a toon of their characters beating up someone else's, then that other person would draw a response, and so it would go, back and forth. Wonder what that would be like if you and Lukeski got into a musical grudge match like that? Hmmmm....
In case no one else has pointed this out yet, that song is the most requested song of 2006 thus far on "the Dr. Demento Show". Now that I am officially on the con-com, I am going to be contacting Lemon Demon to see if he'd be interested in coming to MarsCon 2007 as a part of the Dementia Track.
