At YouTube. Warning: The last clip, while not exactly spoilery to the story, is what they call a Money Shot.

It's making me crazy, though. I'm still not buyin' the guy. Or Kate Bosworth as Lois. And they're both so frickin' young to have a history, and for him to be gone for years and her to have had a kid. And, the more of the story we get, the less I like it. Spacey, on the other hand, kicks ass and takes names. And I have to admit that the non-close-up shots of Supes flying are great.

*embarrassed*

I must totally not know what that really means, because I always thought a "money shot" was that thing they do in porn where the guy pulls out and shoots all over the woman so that you know he really did come.

Well, that would be the other definition....

I'm going to reserve judgment...

A lot of people didn't like C. Reeves in the role either.

Like most things it all depends on balance. Can they balance the depth of the character with the flaws of the actor. I'm not sure but I'm willing to see it in the theatre if only for the flight shots. ;-)

The kid thing bugs me though as much as I'm sure it bugs you. I don't think she ever even got close to that in the comics that I recall.

And the timeframe, as you pointed out, is massively messed up. If he went off for years then she and Jimmy should at least be slightly older than the look. But I guess Hollywood wants young faces to appeal to young pathos. *rolls eyes*

Spacey rocks. He _just_ _rocks_! It's about time we had a truly evil Luthor. =-)

Maybe it would be excellent casting for a Superman:Year One. Supes might be timeless but like so many have said the cast seems a bit young.

Definitely a must see in the theater for the effects... but will it just be effects? I remember there was time when I believed a man could fly!

I'm... disinterested. I think it was at Goblet of Fire--we saw the trailer for this upcoming Superman movie, and the only response I had to it was "needlessly messianic". It left me very uncomfortable, and I just haven't been able to work up any interest in the movie since.

Hm. I would probably go see it just for Kevin Spacey (damn, damn, damn, he does evil well), but let's face it--the kid Superman is serious eye candy (at least as good as Dean Cain--maybe better, and I didn't think I could *say* that!), and I *love* the voice--best Superman voice ever. The few scenes I saw of Lois she doesn't look like a kick-ass female reporter, but oh well. Terri Hatcher did a fairly good job at that. The kid seems weird--but as long as he's not Luther's I'll cope. It will be worth it for all the above but the flying shots.

I'm being optimistic

Well, best clip yet. But still.. They're Frigging KIDS!

Trying running it in your head but put Reeves and Kidder's faces over the characters.. Would so work.

When I see this guy as Clark I instantly twig on some college kid dressing up as Clark for Halloween.

But the effects and Spacey are going to rock.

So this is supposed to take place after the Chris Reeves series? Even tho the actors look younger than Reeves and Kidder did in the first film.

Would rather think this is Earth 2.

And that last scene, even if it doesn't damage you, I'd imagine it would still sting like a mofo (not that the hero is going to let on in front of the bad guy).

I wonder how much of the "but he's so young!" reaction is due to the fact that we've all gotten a lot older...
