Convention Update
May. 30th, 2006 05:09 amThis year, at least, I am not going to ConCarolinas. I haven't heard back from them, even though I've sent a couple of messages asking for more info, and there's really no time left. I'm assuming they're incredibly busy, and it's Just One Of Those Things, and I'd like to hear from them about next year.
Coming up:
So, who's gonna be where this summer?

- June 15-18 -- AnthroCon (Pittsburgh, PA)

Date: 2006-05-30 02:16 pm (UTC)The trip to Concertino is going to be an interesting one... Driving from Long Island to Baltimore to pick up 2 people, their van and dealer's stock and then driving to Mass for the con.
(Its a good excuse to go and finally get some stuff delivered to them in Baltimore.) :) I suspect the biggest problem of hte trip will be getting from LI to NJ and back.
Although getting the 2nd driver on the way to Mass (from Manhattan) will be an interesting challenge in itself.

Date: 2006-05-30 03:33 pm (UTC)My SF summer: Well, nothing out-of-state for me due to budgetary concerns. ON the other hand, both Westercon [San Diego] and Worldcon [Anaheim] are in Southern California. This makes for an expensive summer despite the savings in transportation costs. Come to think of it, if gasoline prices go up much more in the next few months, this might not be MUCH of a savings. Seriously looking into taking the train to Westercon.
There is no Con-Chord this year due to the proximity of Worldcon. Looking at it another way, Con-Chord will be AT Worldcon. The filk track is going all-out, I hear.

Date: 2006-05-31 12:35 am (UTC)I'm going to try to make it to Anthrocon on Saturday. You're always a hoot, and Diane Duane is responsible for one of my favorite series.
