Well, that was a great time. Many thanks to Nick and Jan DiMasi ([livejournal.com profile] janmagic), my gracious and generous hosts for the weekend, and to all of you who hung out at all the sets and panels. (Sorry I didn't get to the Saturday night filk, but I was exhausted. But I even creaked through a couple hours of the Dead Duck party.) I might go more in-depth later, but I have a suspicion it'll be just like everybody else, going Yeah, good weekend.

The best part, besides the good fellowship, was the music. It was really great seeing and hearing [livejournal.com profile] musicmutt and [livejournal.com profile] chirosinger and [livejournal.com profile] chasophonic and Andy and [livejournal.com profile] filker0 and Jordin and [livejournal.com profile] wormquartet and [livejournal.com profile] lukeski and [livejournal.com profile] pixelene and [livejournal.com profile] billroper and [livejournal.com profile] daisy_knotwise and [livejournal.com profile] tigertoy and Helen and [livejournal.com profile] tnatj and Art and Duryea and [livejournal.com profile] barbarakitten_t and [livejournal.com profile] khadagan and [livejournal.com profile] almeda and [livejournal.com profile] rmjwell and [livejournal.com profile] wwetuesday and Sue and Josh and Rachel and and and... yeah. :)

Next up: AnthroCon!

So am I! I'm sorry, Steve -- did I look right past you at the con? It was pretty busy for me.

I was only there for about eleven hours on Saturday, so missing me would have been easy.

Well, I'll be doing something Thursday night at 8:00, I seriously suspect the Instafilk panel Friday at 3:00, and my concert's at 3:30 Saturday. I should also be at most of the open filks, at least Friday and Saturday.

It was really cool to see you do a serious show Friday night.

I was really bumbed to have missed the comedy concert Saturday afternoon, but good thing I caught you afterward and got my CD copy of LHOE.

And of course, a great memnt was when you helped out with a round of "Sit On My Face" for my girlfriend Linda

I want to know if that one sexy song you sang before Boy And His Frog is set for a future release (or if it has already been released, on an album I don't have yet), since she likes it so much. Or at least the song title, so I can look up the lyrics on the site.

I did want ask you something, but I kept forgeting. Had to do if you were going to watch the ECW PPV. Oh well, then :)

If I recall correctly, that was "PQR (PeloQuin's Rap)", and it's on Who Let Him In Here? and the Digital Acoustic Compilation. I'm doing a new studio version of it for Sounds Familiar.

Hal asked it I wanted to go see the ECW PPV, and I told him I was still gonna be at Duck. Also, bluntly, the card didn't look that good, and I still don't want to give money to WWE. From what PW Torch has about it, it was an okay show, but could've been a good deal better.

It was nice getting to talk to you more and meeting all the awesome talented and friendly filkers.

The serious concert was awesome (and yeah, "The Really Sexy Song" was really sexy).

See ya next time...

Hee. Got the best review of my life re: that song -- a newbie, brought by a friend, leaned over to said friend and whispered, "That sound you hear is my nipples ripping through my brassiere."

Much as I love "PQR", it's "Heat of the Blood" that gets my vote for "Raelly Sexy Song"... and my husband has already pointed out how very twisted that is.

The thing about that song is that it demonstrates a knowledge of, like, what turns women on. Given the task of writing a song that would turn women on, most guys would be all "I wanna stick my peeeeenis in your vagiiiiiiina girrrrrrl" and wonder why they get slapped in the face before they get to the 2nd line.

I can't remember who, but it might've been Jeff Foxworthy who said that some guys' idea of foreplay was standing in the doorway with their pants around their ankles, saying, "You wanna? It's a commercial!"

Hey Tom! Glad you have a good time and I really wish I'd gotten to see more of what we had programmed. (That's the irony of being program chair: You rarely get to see much of what you've created.)

Oh well, hopefully we'll both be at a convention sometime when I'm not on staff. Assuming I can remember how to do that, of course!

Absolutely. We have got to get together more. Fortunately, I'm currently averaging four Chicago cons a year, so that does make it easier. We'll have to see if I make either MarsCon again or MiniCon. You all gonna be at OVFF? Windy?

I'm not sure I actually have a table in the dealer's room. What I want, and what I believe I've got, is a table right outside (or inside) where I'm going to sing. Because, bluntly, sales are best [a] right after a concert [b] where the audience doesn't have to go looking for swag.

> It was really great seeing and hearing ...

Why does this make me start singing "It was red and yellow and green and brown
and scarlet and black and ochre and peach
and ruby and olive and violet and fawn
and lilac and gold and chocolate and mauve
and cream and crimson and silver and rose
and azure and lemon and russet and grey
and purple and white and pink and orange
and red and yellow and green and brown and
scarlet and black and ochre and peach
and ruby and olive and violet and fawn
and lilac and gold and chocolate and mauve
and cream and crimson and silver and rose
and azure and lemon and russet and grey
and purple and white and pink and orange
and blue"?
