Now what a Poe is is when you pretend to be a fun-da-mentalist preacher like I'm a-doin and you do a parody of their position. You sound like the world was best about 2000 years ago and only gotten worse since. It's easy to do. Just read your good book. Really read it and think about what it says. Then post it on that there internet. You'll be able to make a Poe that will make almost everyone living in the 21st century think, "I didn't think anyone was that backwards." For example talk about how kids who made fun of your bald head should be thrown into the bear pit at the local zoo. God did it. It's in the Bible; 2 Kings 2. And if it's good enough for one of God's favored then it's good enough for you. If you don't like that, try explaining why Noah could put elephants on his ark but not triceratops. Logic is your greatest weapon in making a Poe
Now the reason why this Poe has wounded, I say wounded the preacher character is that in a Poe you don't always know if it's a parody or someone who really is that backwards. That makes it funnier. You'll remember that a comedian's preacher character is obviously a parody. That is unless you can't tell the difference between a comedy club and a church. If that's the case I strongly recommend examining what you want in your religion and in your humor.
The preacher character cannot comPETE with the Poe because the Poe is too much like the yahoos out there. They can blend in while we stick out like sore thumbs. But we will see this through. We will see this through. By strengthening our drawl and imitating the masters of the art, televangelists and the street preacher for Boolla Yudi.
I always found actual fundamentalist preachers WAY more humorous than their parody counterparts. The original is more likely to believe what he preaches than the latter.
