And what makes this soooo funny is that these were clips from actual broadcast episodes! Pickles is much more familiar with TNG and has only seen some of the good TOS episodes, so had no idea of the utter...cheesiness of some of the episodes. Maybe she had heard about them, but I don't think she really *understood* until I showed her this vid last night.

I have not yet inflicted her with the horror that is Spock's Brain - I'm keeping that in reserve for a "special" occasion (between that and her chick flicks, it's like our own little form of Mutually Assured Destruction :)), but I think maybe a Way to Eden/Operation:Annihilate double header is in order :)

God damn. All it needs is some Princess Bride riffs and it's the Fandom Trifecta.

That was terrific, in a horrible way! And it's just scary how the ST:TOS clips fit w/the song.

Trouble was -- from a post I read elsewhere on LJ -- that it had been uploaded to YouTube without the permission of the fan who created it.

And in fact, that source reports that the uploader him/herself took it down after being contacted about the matter from the fannish side.

Does your source happen to know of an alternate location where it can be found?

For now, it's up here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ptx98LTGyfE&search=monty%20python%20camelot).

Also, the creators' site is here (http://seacouver.slashcity.net/vidland/vids.html). The vid might be there if the YouTube link I provided is gone by the time you see this; I didn't have time to dig through for it tonight.

Sadly, the first link is now also dead, and the second requires a username/password.

Oh well, this won't be the first meme I've missed, nor the last. :)

Lucky for you, I was linking to it in my own journal tonight, so I have a link handy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2Vc0lsmCdw&mode=related&search=).

While bopping about YouTube tonight, I saw at least half a dozen people with this up, so if that link doesn't work, try a search for "knights star trek" or "python star trek" and you should get one. =)

Haha...Thanks! Worth the wait. I think the best bit was where they cut to the red-shirt ensign playing air drums.

And here's how you get it onto your hard drive (at least, on a Windows system):

Watch it in IE. After it's all loaded, go to your Documents & Settings/Local Settings/$[your name] folder, and sort the files there by Last Accessed. At or near the top of the list should be a garbled file starting with "get video?video..", 3,977 kb in size. Highlight and copy that file somewhere safe -- it'll try to rename itself "get video", call it "MP_TOS.flv". The "flv" is the important part, because that'll let the system recognize it as the Flash video it is. You can now open it in a Flash video player (I recommend this one (http://sweb.cityu.edu.hk/50689882/flv.html)).

Gaaah. Idiot. Not awake yet. It'll be in "Documents & Settings/$[your name]/Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files/".

You can also try the VideoDownloader (http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php) extension for Firefox.
