Good con. Rough spots, most notably [a] my feet and ankles, which were hurting in random locations and intervals, which is why I presume everyone was worriedly asking me if I was all right -- I promise, I really am fine, just in some pain which I can't do much about -- and [b] the elevators in our tower dying just in time for Sunday check out. Thank Cthulhu I didn't have my CDs and guitar in the room; I made a relatively easy escape. Others had costuming stuff, coolers, etc.

Many hugs to the whole bunch of you, especially [livejournal.com profile] dubheach and Jonathan and [livejournal.com profile] sylverwolfe and Cain and [livejournal.com profile] scott644 and [livejournal.com profile] shsilver and [livejournal.com profile] darkwolf69 and [livejournal.com profile] sydb42 and Sally and Murray and Cathy and Kerry and Bill Levy and Bill Richardson and ever-damn-body on the ConGlom staff and everybody else (especially a stack o' cute, smart kids. You guys are really trying to get me to do a kids' album, aren't you). Thanks for a great weekend, and we'll see about next year!

All the rest of you either home okay from the con or have a good weekend otherwise? Let's hear it.

Hiya! Made it home roughly 3:30 myself. Reclined just to rest, and when I opened my eyes it was 6:30! lol

Fighting a muscular disorder these days. That and the medicine for it has me less capable (heck - darn near narcoleptic) and I didn't run myself nearly as hard as previous years - but I still made it to your filking and had a great time! Nokomis absolutely adores you by the way - she couldn't help but wanna "glomp" you every chance she got!

had a good weekend otherwise...

If you find this to be a recurrent issue, I honestly cannot recommend Z-coils highly enough. They're not cheap, but for me, being able to actually WALK for the entirety of a convention makes them worth their weight in platinum.

I'm glad you made it home ok. :) When I heard you were cancelling evening filk because you weren't feeling well, I was worried.

Despite my daughter's rudeness during the concert, she apparently enjoyed it in her own little way because she asked to listen to Tom Smith all day today (yes, she asked for you by name). ;) She wanted to listen to a particular song (DIFFERENT than the Superhero Song (!), but she also wanted to hear that), but Wolf and I couldn't figure out what song she's talking about. She was saying the "Go" song (and, although we have "Be Our GOH", I don't think that was it, particularly since you didn't play that on Saturday), that it was loud, and also that it was the "catch me" song. Now, it could be that she switched and started talking about a song she made up herself (she makes up songs all the time), but I was wondering if you had any suggestions on what she might have been talking about...Wolf and I couldn't figure it out to save our lives. We finally just put the Superhero song on, and that seemd to satisfy her. :)

Can't think of anything particular right now, but I'm tired (and about to go to bed). The not feeling well last night was my stupid ankle, which decided it was going to hurt really bad and not support my weight very well, and I didn't think it would be a good idea to haul my ass all the way down there only to be surly. Then [livejournal.com profile] sylverwolfe called my cell, and I could actually tell her to tell everyone else. Sigh.

Sorry to hear about your discomfort. I'd recommend you get gellin', but then they wouldn't let you fly (via Boing Boing)

Been having fun with the Stephen Colbert On Notice Board generator. I bet you'd have a blast with it.

Oof, hope your limbs are feeling better...I enjoyed the concert very much, despite being under the weather from a *very* rough Friday night...even getting up against my better judgment to dance to "Illuminati Polka." (I was the female half of that duo, LOL)

And since I was also the one covering her ears and yelling "Spoiler Alert!" when "Serenity" came up, I finally got off (or on?) my duff and popped in my borrowed copies of "Firefly"...and dammit! Another show I've fallen in love with that ended far, far, far too soon. I hope to be caught up on the series in time for the midnight showing of "Serenity" they're having down here in a couple of weeks...should be completely Fireflied by Dragon*Con.

Where you must play "I'm On Firefly" several times...please please pretty please? (bats eyes)

Mostly boring weekend. Didn't leave the house except to get some food at the grocery store that wouldn't upset my recovering stomach. Read and caught up on the summer TV shows. Wish I could have been at the con as planned. Being stuck at home sick is lonely.

it was a good, if quiet weekend. dealers' room was SLOW, programming seemed a tad sparse in places, and attendance looked scary low from my side of things. poor little con can't catch a break...first weekend of august they're competing with street rods, second weekend it's gencon, and then after that it's the state fair. but moving the thing to mid april? hello, that starts derby festival, and that's socio-economic suicide to compete against. *sigh* i'm worried about my little hometown convention....

sounds interesting. makes it a bit sticky for me myself, because that tends to be when kane and i go up to syracuse to see family and friends, and to go to Sterling Faire. but from a health of the con perspective, it's quite possibly workable. i'll be sure to post the notion to the concom staff.

Aprils not sooo bad....

There is always a weekend between thunder and derby where not much is going on. People who go to Derby aren't usually in town weeks in advance. Technically, it would be no worse - time wise - then wedging the con on a weekend between this and that other thing.

One thing I like about April is that it is cooler and might entice more costuming????

God, your concert was a blast. Father Joe turned me on to your music last year, and I've loved every bit of it. In case ye're wondering, I'm the guy who kept asking for rupert the Swishy...which is still stuck in my head. I did love the Smurf song, I must admit. Anyways, good luck on getting yer feet better. I hope to see you around.

[b] the elevators in our tower dying just in time for Sunday check out. Thank Cthulhu I didn't have my CDs and guitar in the room; I made a relatively easy escape. Others had costuming stuff, coolers, etc.

A couple of weeks back I got caught on the 6th floor of a local doctor's building with an 85 year old friend with bad knees who was there for some tests, when they lost power to the elevators. We wound up walking down the stairs very slowly, with me in front in case of a slip. There were a couple of firemen on the 6th floor awaiting some special transport equipment before moving some of the less stair capable patients downstairs. At least it beat being caught IN the thing. (I did get stuck in an elevator last LOSCON, mercifully on the bottom floor. When they let us out I walked upstairs to the party floor on the 17th floor.)

A kids' album sounds like a good idea, actually.

I've got Worldcon in a week and a half....

I'm still trying to catch up on some sleep dep, but otherwise okay.

I'll vote for a kids' album as well.

You're welcome and thanks for playing...

Sorry that your parting gifts appear to be ankle pain and the ever-fun driving lag after the Con.

Thanks for your performances, and your generous dragging me in for the "I Am Not A Nazi Polka", made popular by that wonderful singing trio R. Limbaugh, A. Scalia and R. Cheney, a/k/a the Chad Mitchell trio.

Doing the original Chad Mitchell and Mitchell trio (historical trivium, known to Tom - when Chad Mitchell quit the trio he was replaced with an unknown until then John Denver. If the rest of you ask who John Denver was I will thrust my AARP card down your much too young throats!)songs was great fun, especially since there was stuff I hadn't sung in 20 years, and IMNSHO we did it very credibly. At least one person came to me and said she now appreciated the parody "I Am Not A Pagan Polka" even more.

Just wait until she hears the "I Am Not A Ninja Polka"....or "Wish I Were A Dorsai Polka."
:)

(And if either or both of my kids is reading this; write me, please.)

The irony is that I am in recovery mood from the Con. My throat is still sore, though not nearly what it was like last night and this morning.

So as I pull up your post, I am sipping tea and honey (third cup today, no coffee) and watching Anthony S. Head do exactly the same thing; we're even using the same hand, and I'm not left-handed.
