And that's a wrap on another one. Many, many thanks to everyone involved -- Teri Wachowiak (her first year in charge of filking, and she did a superb job), Pat Henry, Brenda Tackett, Mischa Hess, Paul Cashman, the sound guys at the Saturday night set, just ever-damn-body with the con. Thanks to the very nice folks who came to my concerts and to my table (way, way too many to list here, although I have to mention Peter Popovich of Oasis). Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lukeski and [livejournal.com profile] wormquartet and [livejournal.com profile] devospice and Throwing Toasters and the Boogie Knights and the Brobdingnagian Bards and Heather Alexander and all the rest of the folk/comedy music telent. Thanks to Phil Foglio and John Lotshaw and Bill Holbrook.

Yeah.

So, what stories do you have to tell of this weekend, Dragon*Con-related or not? And how's the rest of the week looking?

You and Throwing Toasters on the same stage? All that is lacking is a cameo by the Arrogant Worms and I'd have bent space and time to attend - not to mention breaking a certain agreement with the spouse. Sorry I missed it.

My mother likes my gay werewolves! Mirable Visu!

I sent a novel off to my editor.
I was ridiculously domestic in ways involving laundry, beef brisket and fluffy yarn.

Otherwise: nothing much

We had a very quiet weekend. We had really hoped to come down on Saturday to see you and bum around the con, but my back wasn't up for it. (My back is in a sorry state right now, and I cannot stand or walk for more than about 15-20 minutes at a time before I'm forced to sit down again).

I did post two new songs to my LJ (one new, one not-new-but-never-posted):

And [livejournal.com profile] kitanzi and I managed to watch 13 episodes of House in 2 days to catch up in time for the season premier tonight.

Glad you had a great time!

This weekend was our annual pilgrimage to the Stratford Theatre Festival, with our usual, see-four-shows-in-two-days schedule. Briefly:

London Assurance: A master class in comedy. Four stars.
The Duchess of Malfi: Dark to excess, with good lead performances. Two stars.
Twelfth Night: Best production of it I've seen. Four stars.
Oliver: Good performances, but lacked heart. Three stars.

I never did get around to relating this story in my own LJ, but on Sunday evening I decided to go take part in the Heinlein Memorial Blood Drive while there was still time. Unfortunately, I had only had four donuts, some milk and coffee to eat all day prior, and when they laid me down and stuck the needle in me, my mind/body's normal reaction to being desanguinated set in, i.e., I turned the color of a Klansman's uniform and started feeling sick. Much fussing about by the LifeSouth nurses and application of icepacks, OJ, cookies etc. and pleas for me to just bring someone else next time and not endanger myself ensued...but by Ghu, I gave almost a full bag! Now I just have to wait for the e-mail to find out what the hell type I have, which I have never known, amazingly. The rest of the week I'm planning on just letting unfold as it will (though Jerre A. did invite me to a local SF club meeting on Saturday, which I probably will do).

Well, I was there, I met you which was awesome, bought some cds, enjoying them greatly, and caught the concert Saturday night, amongst many many other things.

Settling back home now, and playing catchup, which I still have to do, despite having my laptop with me. Part of me SO wants to go again next year, the rest of me doesn't even want to think of doing any more travelling for awhile. ;)

I ended up being Best Man at my sister's wedding on Sunday.

I also saw a SMALL clip on CNN's site about Dragoncon. (Mostly costumes, but a few seconds of Emerald Rose with possible Heather Alexander performing Fire in the Head. I was not able to recognise the 2nd song they were playing, but I don't think it was yours.) :(

Did anyone happen to record the concert? (In other words, do we send money to you again soon??)

Harold

I was at Con and I was in musical bliss most of the weekend. Happy sigh.

It was great seeing you again and meeting [livejournal.com profile] huskiebear. On the ride home, Talk Like a Pirate Day was the song playing as I pulled into the driveway.

Nice. :)

LOL, I heard about that CNN clip on Sunday when my friend from Florida called my cell and started jabbering "Omigod, you're on TV!" I was one of the trio of gals dancing to ER at the end of that clip...that second song of ER's was "Queen of Argyll." And yep, that was Heather playing with them...dang, she is *such* a cool lady!

D*Con, like every D*Con before, was nuts...I had a great time catching up with old friends...but I was so busy pounding the pavement and catching up with people that I pretty much completely missed your shows...managed to sprint across the concourse for "Talk Like a Pirate Day" at the end of the concourse show. So no "I'm On Firefly" for me...(sniffle)...until I catch ya again or it gets recorded. (doe-eyed blink)

And this week is gonna suck...have a small case of the "Con Cruds"...35,000+ people breathing the same air for 5 days...plenty of stuff floating around to catch. Meh.

Howdy Tom. We met briefly at dragon*con...I was the nervous guy with the black cowboy hat and the stubble that bought a copy of TLHOE from you. I am also the person who suggested the Waffle's tragic rival: The Bagel. Sorry if I acted a little creepy, I just have trouble dealing with people in person.

Catching up on lj now ;)

It was good to see you again, and to be one of the screaming hordes at your concerts. It's always fun to listen to you, and see the fun you have at your chosen vocation ;p

The lil' dragon says hi, btw.

This Dragon*Con was so cool for me because, after years of being too shy to say anything to one of my favorite filkers, I found out that I'd met him before at a Harry Potter con and not realized who he was!

The music especially rocked! I never made it to the dealers' room, but kept getting mugged by musicians, at which much money was thrown, present company enthusiastically included. :)
