Thanks for reminding me why Molly is one of my all-time favorite columnists. (And I still can't believe that, with all she got done in one term, the GOP was still able to beat her for re-election...with Chimpy, yet!)
Yeah, but, see, Getting Something Done is the kiss of death in politics. Remember Heinlein's novel _Double Star_? In the epilog, the narrator said his political team got elected, got some changes passed, got voted out, and then started the whole cycle over multiple times.
Yayness. I'd say Molly has a good bit of the ol' Ann Richards magic herself.
She did similarly wonderful tributes to the great Texans Barbara Jordan and Raff Yarborough when their time came. I love great tributes to great Americans.
