Run For Faz

A few months ago I posted on the death of local pizza guy and all-around excellent human being Faz Husain. He died of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), just months after he was diagnosed.

Well, this year's 5K run for the Martin Edward Galvin Fund for IPF Research is on Sunday, October 15, at 8:30 am in Gallup Park here in Ann Arbor, and at least part of it is in memory of Faz. You can sign up or donate at QuestForBreath.org.

Faz was definitely an outstanding individual, one of the few people I have met who kept the same sort of customer service ethic I strived to foster during my tenure as Games Department Head at Rider's Hobby. He understood the importance of maintaining a connection to the community, of knowing a customer regardless of how often that customer might do business. Would that I could contribute in some way, but my health is not the best and I'm on the brink of homelessness.
