Radio ConClave, and 24HCD
Sep. 29th, 2006 08:32 amStraight from the guy in charge, information for ConClave's official SHOUTcast, up and running now:
-----
Next Saturday, Oct. 7 -- the Saturday of 'Clave, in fact -- is this year's 24 Hour Comics Day. The past two years, I've written an entire album each time, and it's a blast.
I'm not doing it this year.
Simple mechanics: I have commission jobs to finish. I'm also committed to work on the Girl Genius musical. Every weekend between now and Thanksgiving is booked, most of them with cons or house concerts, some of them involving decent travel. And, I'm cranking out a new song every week anyway. Not to mention any and all concerns of Real Life.
I still love the idea; I was trying to figure out how I could do it amidst all this stuff. But it's just not gonna be practical for me to do so. Not this year.
Which doesn't mean I haven't got an idea of creating my own riff on the basic concept. In the words of Crow T. Robot, "There's no tradition like a new tradition".
http://yp.shoutcast.com/directory/?s=conclaveThey'll be featuring Last Hero. :)
You can call in a spot for Last Hero or Conclave too - my voicemail can
be loaded into the broadcast - call 248-334-9081 and be silly at the machine.

Date: 2006-09-29 01:28 pm (UTC)So do it late. Who said it had to be on time?? Ok... Your busy from now thru Thanksgiving. Are you doing anything the week after Thanksgiving?? Run it then. I have missed contributing on the previous two and was looking forward to contributing this year.
And as you said, make it a 24hour filk song challenge day. A new tradition.

Looking forward to it--at your convenience, of course.

Date: 2006-09-29 04:58 pm (UTC)Last night I had a dream I was at a Con where you were performing, and several filk-fans were going on and on about your latest piece;
"Bring-An-Elder-God-To-Work Day"
What can I say? I get weird dreams when I take Melatonin.

(Although honestly, I think the current storyline has dragged on way too long. Give us Agatha back, already! Never thought I'd be so glad to see Klaus...)

Date: 2006-10-02 07:41 pm (UTC)Also, I must tell you that Anne, Les, and several other ladies I know think Klaus is Teh Hot.
Which leads into something from a thread last week, when you asked "What does 'Teh' mean, apart from misspelling?" As far as I know, it effectively means "the embodiment of". It's a misspelling that's been assimilated as leetspeek, much the same way that "filk" became accepted. If anyone has a more authoritative take on it, I'd be glad to hear it.

Date: 2006-10-03 04:22 am (UTC)And Klaus has his moments, but I want to see Agatha back with Gil...
Thanks for the answer! It's popped up a bit too frequently to be accidental, so I thought there must be some other meaning I wasn't familiar with.
