Home again, home again, jiggety jig. And I must say, I had a blast. Many, many thanks to everyone on the concom, including [livejournal.com profile] hughcasey, Suzanne, Mark, the wonderful Lisa, Oz and his lady Wendy, Nate, Syd, Stephanie, and ever-damn-body else. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] hms42, [livejournal.com profile] dhs, and [livejournal.com profile] partiallyclips. Thanks to Benjamin and Abbie and and the rest of the filkers. Thanks to all the great fans at the Saturday concert, the Masquerade halftime, and the open filk on Saturday night. Thanks to the whackos in the Con Suite Sunday night, having a chocolate war. Thanks to Larry and Sally and especially [livejournal.com profile] persis. Thanks to everybody who came up and said Hi.

One small thing: I don't think I was surly. And I don't think I was grumbling much. I sincerely hope not. Half the concom seemed to be worried as to whether or not I was having a good con, by which it seemed they meant a financially successful con, whether or not sales were good. I guess I've really got to work on making people understand that, while being a pro is fun and work, and that stuff is important, none of this would be worth a damn if not for the people... if not for you people. I go to cons, first and foremost, because all my buds are at cons. You are my audience, my fan base, my support system, my friends, and I sing for you as much as for me.

So, to be very direct about it: PhilCon this year was great. I had a lovely time with some very good folks, and I made money. Can't beat that.

The system told me that my last comment didn't post, so I'll try again. I am so glad you had a good time. And for all that I used to sign at least some posts as Nate/Mark, I identify with my name pretty strongly. So I'm glad you had a good time with *somebody* named Nate, even if I wasn't that person! And keep having a good time at cons. I find myself wondering how long it will be till I make it to another one, as the band is working *so* steadily. But I can always hope.

I understand, m'friend. It would be lovely to see you again. On the other hand, I'm delighted the band is working so steadily. We'll get together again soon. :)

I am so glad to have met you, Tom. It was a thrill.

I could kick myself for not being able to get to a SINGLE one of your appearances or concerts, but sadly, it's a working con for me... *sigh* But Suzanne did tell me that you left a little surprise behind for me, and I really want to thank you for that. I wasn't at all expecting it, and I'm honored.

And I certainly didn't think you were surly... whenever I asked if you were having a good con, I meant in every way possible. I'm glad you did. Hopefully, we'll see you back in our neck of the woods someday soon!

Take care, stay safe and well, and feel free to friend me on LJ! (What can I say... I'm an LJ ho...)

Done, m'friend, and it was great to meet you as well. I'm sorry you didn't get to the songs either; I did show up for what I thought was the Dead Dog, but everyone was out, or else flinging chocolate at each other....

I lost more money doing PhilCon this year than at any con in the last two years.

And yet I still had an incredible time and would like to go and do it all over again. :D

Tom - As a fan (and art show staff) who regularly attends Philcon, thank you for coming.

You sounded great and I am glad to hear that you got home safely. Time to get the last of the recordings backed up to DVD-R.

I watched your half-time concert half backwards on the projection screen, and half live, but from the side. But it was the best time I had all con. Save that extra LJ ribbon for the next one.

I'm really sorry I didn't get to the LJ meet-and-greet. I got a bunch of phone calls in rapid succession, one of which was a close friend who needed to talk. Next time.

You weren't grumpy at all the times I saw you... ;-)

I had a great time seeing you and hearing your songs. It's been far too long since we've spent time together. (and I see you fairly often at filkcons...)

definitely NOT grumpy

I'll second persis's comments.... And will note that I only got to the con about a half hour before your concert. Simply had to get there by then, and had way to much stuff I had to do at home before I could cut loose.

Hadn't heard you play live since Arisia 3 years ago.

Cheers!.

(In case you have no idea who this is... this is your friendly head of filk programming speaking.)

I'm really glad to have worked with you on filk programming this year. Yeah, some of the programming was experimental and everything was last minute... we had fun. From what I saw, people really enjoyed both of your major performances, and I'm glad you had a good time yourself.

As for being grumpy? I didn't see anyone being grumpy, except maybe about the $%#@! elevators ;-) — we would have liked to see you in the open filk on Friday, but nobody can fault you for marshalling your internal resources, and you had a very full Saturday ahead of you.

Anyway... thanks for your part in helping to make a great con.
