I had not heard of The FuMP before. Where in heck has this been all my life??!! And are y'all accepting new artists? I have a buddy in NJ who's a veteran [survivor?] of The Uncle Floyd Show and he just may need to get involved.

In the meantime, Imma gonna sign up for an ultra mega membership, gladly, happily.

It's brand brand brand new, just kicked off today. The core group is pretty solid right now, but we've got provisions for guest FuMPers. If your friend wants to get involved, have him e-mail [livejournal.com profile] partiallyclips.

Upon reflection, I think I will wait a week or two so the rest of you can post your songs. It's hard to display a cross section of the site's songs with a sample of ONE. :-D

Have signed up for the premium membership, because startups need all the help they can get. I believe in you guys and I want to support this kind of music distribution, liberated from the dreaded Corporate Music Establishment.

Am I the first?

Tarot readings. Payment accepted in barter, food, and other negotiable items. Except that I'm being really picky and finicky and stingy with the time I give away right now. Maybe I shouldn't pimp this until Spring.

Take two - I really can do HTML.

Yes, as a matter of fact. The Lime Project. Wherein a number of terribly sexy LJ women get naked and have their pictures made into a calendar for a Good Cause. We're helping Heather Kick Cancer's Ass. Order a calendar or make a donation, browse the site, pass the word. We're nearly halfway to our goal. Every cent of every sale and donation goes to Heather - all costs associated with the project have been donated by the participants.

I have a songbook coming out. It's called Musical Mayhem, and I hope to have some copies (Ghod willing) available at GaFilk.

My lovely and praiseworthy wife [livejournal.com profile] argentee is the artist.

I'm afraid I'm a little prehistoric as far as having a commerce site set up thus far, so I don't really have a link per se. I can put together a decent 25 or 60-word blurb for the filk dealer you have in mind...

To cut out the middle person (me), if you have not spoke to Kathy Sands, she can be contacted at talwhi at earthlink dot net. (Tales from the White Hart). They are an east coast filk dealer and will be heading over to the British filk convention in Feb, so that will spread your songbook further.

Just passing along a lead. I pass info along when I see something online, so she can add it to her stock.

I definitely plan on paying for a subscription thingy eventually. If only just because many of the artists involved sent me their songs for free (or are supposedly going to) so I can play 'em on Dementia Radio, and they're awesome and such.

Nothing for a couple of months, but I do have 2 CDs in the works with spring release dates. (Lunacon being the aim for date currently.)

Kathy Sands and Roberta Rogow have CDs in the works. (Roberta's need me to figure out the cover and liner notes, Kathy's needs audio finished and track order decided.)

Thanks for the advertising space and the links to new CDs available for pre-order.

Since you're going out of your way to ask: Yeah, I got stuff to pimp...

Item: Anthro (http://anthrozine.com) -- A bimonthly netzine devoted to fantasy & science fiction, which will be the home of one of Mr. Smith's wonderful songs as soon as I manage to scrape up the rest of his (eminently well-deserved!) commission fee. Currently, Anthro comes up #3 in the list of results of a Google search for 'anthro' (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=anthro). Surf on over, enjoy the stories and art, buy some of our posters and other art-type thingies (75% of all profits go directly to the artist!), buy a recommended book or three from any of four different booksellers (full disclosure: I get a "finder's fee" either way)...

Item: ANTHRO Press (http://www.lulu.com/cubist) -- This, as you might suspect, is Anthro's "dead tree" operation, in which stuff that showed up in the netzine gets printed up real purty on real paper. At present, we've got ANTHROlogy One (http://www.lulu.com/content/536807), a 602-page collection of damn near everything that showed up in Anthro's first year's worth of issues; The Human Memoirs (http://www.lulu.com/content/541536), the novel that was serialized in Anthro #s 1-4, about the misadventures of a man thrust into an alternate timeline where humans never evolved; and a display typeface called Freedom City. Spent 99 cents for the high-quality, fully kerned outline font (Mac PostScript (http://www.lulu.com/content/261159) or TrueType (http://www.lulu.com/content/261158); PC PostScript (http://www.lulu.com/content/261087) or TrueType (http://www.lulu.com/content/261094)), or grab the free bitmap version (also Mac or PC).

Item: Graphic Descriptions (http://www.zazzle.com/cubist*) -- The online storefront where I sell the Anthro art-stuff, and more! If, in the course of your recent netsurfing, you've run across an Old West-style "Wanted: Schrodinger's Cat -- Dead AND Alive" image, or a Goth-y "full moon in a dead tree" image, they're probably my work; go to Graphic Descriptions to pick up posters or t-shirts. Or, if the idea of a vampire smiley-face (complete with fangs, one of them blood-dripping) or other mutant smileys tickles your fancy, we've got you covered there, too.

Thanks for granting us this space on your blog, Tom. I hope this wasn't too excessive...

Yeah. On www.cartoongeeks.com, which is our temporary home while we rebuild the toonmag.com system, we have a podcast from a while ago (featuring the visit from Conditional Santa at the end), a year-end wrapup of some neat stuff and a few failures, and coming next week, a brand-new podcast Ms. Geek recorded when I was with her in California in December.
