Killer Heat

It's 105° in Ypsilanti, MI today.

A chunk of Ann Arbor is without power because of a fire at a local substation -- no one knows the cause yet, but several thousand people and businesses suddenly didn't have air conditioning, lots of traffic lights went out, and I used to live and work over that way and I'm so glad I no longer do.

Lots of sun, no rain, medium humidity... this is killing weather. Please, PLEASE keep yourself cool. If you have pets, keep them cool. Keep everyone hydrated.

I must confess, this whole thing served me quite well. I got to leave the day-job early because there was no power. But then I came home and there was power. Now H might get the night off because his work has no power. But I'm actually in the air conditioning, so it's 75 in here.
