On this date in 1785. He became famous for being transformed by cosmic rays into the Ever-Lovin' Blue-Eyed...

... Sorry. Wrong guy. This Grimm, and his brother Wilhelm, collected Grimm's Fairy Tales.

Different approach from normal: What fairy tales bug you the most? For me, trying to describe the plot of Rumplestiltskin is like trying to describe the plot of The Rocky Horror Show. It makes absolutely no frickin' sense at all.

[livejournal.com profile] drzarron linked to a Sky News story about alleged plagiarism of "Ninja" by the British band 7 Seconds of Love. Besides being a fascinating case, it's also a pretty cool song and video.

And it's got me thinking.

I'm not an animator -- I tried it several times in high school and college, and just never had the knack -- but I've got some decent graphics and video tools these days, and a few friends who might be able to help. I've had ideas for videos before, but haven't acted on them yet.

Maybe it's time. ;)

Apologies to everybody who's friended [livejournal.com profile] itom_songs and [livejournal.com profile] tomdoespolitics and just got blasted. I switched to The New And Improved Blogger this morning, and it's apparently seen fit to republish everything from scratch. I have got to go to a new service. Any suggestions? Or tech help on just launching it myself from TSO? I'm still in the OMGWTFBBQ stages on RSS.

Update: Blogger says:
Switching from current Blogger to the new Blogger in beta will cause your most recently updated 25 posts to appear as new in feed aggregators. Update (11/11): We have solved this. Unfortunately, the fix will cause all blogs currently on the new version of Blogger to appear as new in feed aggregators. We apologize for this one-time annoyance. — latest update on Saturday, November 11, 2006
What.

The.

Fuck.

A little public humiliation to go with your inept hackery? Why, thank you, Blogger code monkeys!

Okay, does anyone have Ben Edlund's email address?

Update: Despite the number of responses, I still don't have the address. So, if you do, please don't skim past the thread. Thanks. :)

I'm working simultaneously on three recordings -- but I was working on four.

I've made a good-faith effort at contacting Ben Edlund. I've been told [a] he probably won't mind a parody and [b] he doesn't answer e-mail much. So I may never hear from him. If I do, and if he doesn't want this recorded, this'll vanish. But until then....

Ladies and gentlemen... The Chef They Call Jayne.

(In case you forgot.)
