2008 Hugo Awards

Congratulations to all the winners. I'm really pleased "Blink" won Best Dramatic (Short Form), and now I really do have to see Stardust, and John Scalzi got Best Fan Writer (but sympathy, hugs and Well Done to fellow nominee shsilver), and Brad Foster got Best Fan Artist, and a special big frickin' WHOO HOO! to our own matociquala, who won Best Short Story for "Tideline".

Isaac Hayes Dies

Wow. Oscar- and Grammy-award-winning singer/songwriter/composer/musical producer, not to mention movie and TV actor -- the Duke in Escape From New York, the voice of Chef on South Park -- and all-around Bad Mutha Shut Yo Mouf Isaac Hayes has passed away at the age of 65.
