Well, it ain't dandruff and it ain't grated cheese, so I guess it must be snow.
Not a lot, but unmistakable. No stray flake or three, making you think your eyes might be playing tricks on you -- nope, enough to lightly coat the roofs and lawns, and most likely cause a problem here and there on the roads.
The fact that our first appreciable snow is on December 1st somehow heartens me. In a world full of suck, some things don't change that much, and one of 'em is: It may be a pain to maneuver through, but the first snow of the year is pretty.
How's your week looking? I have to finish up some game music (omgwtf, I've got multiple jobs on game music), and then DUNH-DUHN-DUHHHNNNNNNN install Win7 on this beast. I'm also going to lunch with [Bad username or unknown identity: -"markbernstein"], and then with

Date: 2010-12-01 01:44 pm (UTC)Snow is pretty right up until the moment I'm preparing to go out into it. I miss my childhood home, which had big glass sliding doors in the living room, which also had the working fireplace. Turn the exterior lights on over the doors, if necessary, and sit by the fire and watch the snow, is the only way to deal with the stuff. (After all, "snow" is, in every sense, a four-letter word.)
Good luck with Windows 7. Are you upgrading, or nuke-and-pave installing clean? (Or dual-booting, even?)

Date: 2010-12-01 02:57 pm (UTC)Your post made me look outside and it's snowing here too!
The week is a mixed bag. One company was suppose to get back to me yesterday but hasn't. I have a phone interview with another company tomorrow (but I'm not sure if it's a good fit). Finally got a hold of the unemployment office to explain why I was fired. The guy had this, "Are you sh!tt!ng me?" tone in his voice when I told him what happened. Hopefully this means I'll be approved quickly and I can get my 4 weeks soon.
City of Heroes released Issue 19 which means I have to do a respec of all my characters. Yes, I'll get new powers but it's still annoying and time consuming. But we get all this new content and more butt that needs kicking.

Date: 2010-12-01 03:12 pm (UTC)Good luck with W7. I installed it on my new computer last year and it was pretty smooth. Well except that I had a 64 bit machine and accidentally installed the 32 bit version of Windows the first time. So be careful and be sure you're installing the right version. I haven't had many problems with the OS itself. So it should work out for you.
I also have to decided if I want to respond to a comment on the Chicago Sun Times some nutcase is going to leave. He likes to comment on any story about equal marriage about what GOD wants and how gays are perversions. But he doesn't hate gays. He does it out of love. (Hands up for everyone who believes those last two sentences.)

Date: 2010-12-01 04:14 pm (UTC)If I can get through this work week in one piece, we've got a holiday party at our place this weekend, and we've got to kick New Years' planning into high gear...instead of buying each other more STUFF this year, the roomie and I decided to go somewhere for NYE. We thought we knew what we were doing, but a string of VERY happy coincidences has wrought a massively awesome change in plans. Seriously. Woot!
Now, my local family's gonna be pissed...but ah well...

Date: 2010-12-01 05:26 pm (UTC)does that mean you make wooden games? Like that someone could commission from you? I'm looking for a very spiffy version of Shut the Box to give as a Yule gift.

Date: 2010-12-01 05:29 pm (UTC)Meanwhile, I have a crochet project that's going VERY well, and my very first tomato plant is heavy with fruit (that isn't ripe just yet, darn it), and there's always something to do on the decluttering front. But no snow, thankfully. :-)
