Best Cover Of "Friday" Evar

Okay, this stupid catchy inane song obviously needs to be done with a whole lot of tongue in cheek. So who better than Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Taylor Hicks, and the Roots? (It was apparently done for as, basically, a bet, to raise money for DonorsChoose.org; the full version with an intro is here.)

If this keeps up, the song is gonna become a beloved American classic. And I'm beginning to wonder if that would be a bad thing.

The song itself isnt' any more terrible than a lot of pop songs. That girl who sings it needs some voice lessons, stat!

You know how they say if an independent musician can get 1,000 devoted fans, that that fanbase is enough to make a sustainable living from? Well, despite all the haters (deserved as they may be), I'm sure Rebecca has got that 1,000 and then some by now thanks to "Friday" becoming an ironic viral hit. And, she has a lifetime ahead of her to improve her craft. So, who is the joke is on now? :)

Via autographedcat (over on FB), there's the "true" story: Ms. Black covered the song, which was originally by Bob Dylan. Here's the original (which is perhaps the only version that can make Rebecca's sound good). (Yes, this was posted on April 1.)
