Tornadoes In The Southeast

For the past few days, there have been a frightening number of tornadoes hitting the midwest and moving into the southeast. Today, the Carolinas and Virginia have been nailed, a lot of damage and some lives lost. If you're in that and you're sheltered and you can get this post, STAY HUNKERED DOWN. The warnings are up until at least 9:00 p.m. EDT. And, once you can get online more consistently, sound off so we know you're okay. I'm speaking especially to my friends in Greensboro and Raleigh and Williamsburg, as well as Allison,
jannyblue,
bfeist and a few other folks. Be safe, and let us know where you are and how you're doin'.

Date: 2011-04-18 08:19 pm (UTC)We still have the top of the tree in our front yard, and the trunk of this huge sucker on the other side, and I'm just not sure right now how that's going to be cleared, since we can't really afford a tree clearing service. Power got put back up that night, thanks to some dedicated Alabama Power workers.
House is fine, power's on, and we can get in and out of the driveway, so we're happy and thankful. I wish I could do more for my more devastated neighbors.
