Countdown with Keith Olbermann premieres on Current TV tonight at 8:00 p.m. EDT. If you don't have Current TV, you can still watch it for free:
  1. You have to have iTunes.
  2. Click on iTunes Store.
  3. Click on TV Shows.
  4. Search for "Olbermann". One of the results will be "Countdown" on Current TV.
  5. Click on "Subscribe". This will download each show automatically every day.
I presume that it will also be shown on the Countdown site, and some of the other options such as Hulu or Netflix. If you find out about those options, please post them in comments.

I knew there was a reason why I added "Current TV" to my list of saved stations on TVGuide.com. At first it was for Bar Karma, but I never got around to watching that show. I heard it's pretty good though.

Hulu does have a listing for Countdown, but given that only clips are available for other Current programs, I don't expect it to have complete shows.

It was already on my TIVO before this entry. But thanks, Tom, because you introduced me (formerly an adamant anti-cablist, until my retirement ensued) to Keith in the first place. Which just got me thinking about the one-named 60s singer Keith (98.6) - I just checked Wiki, and he's still touring after some unsuccessful comeback attempts. Cool. And that got me to thinking of my favorite obscure 60s artist, Brute Force, who is also still out there doing stuff. http://www.brutesforce.com/ I recommend his song "Tapeworm of Love."

Meds. Need meds.

Will I be able to access podcasts of the show? If so, where can I get them?

Certain Countdown clips will be available through podcasts with some of our digital partners including iTunes, xfinitytv.com, Hulu and YouTube, but unfortunately, full episodes will not be available for download because our agreements with our cable and satellite distributors do not allow us to do so. In order to get the full viewing experience of Keith's new show, we encourage you to watch the channel via your cable or satellite provider. If your provider doesn't carry Current, go here to request Keith today, so you can watch his show in full on Current TV.

Your back-alley alternative is, at present: http://www.justin.tv/milostream/

And even WITH that issue, the podcast is already #1 on iTunes.

Merry Keithmas, everyone! (Keithmas: Like Christmas, but more snark.)

Blah. One of the best things about the MSNBC version was that I could automatically sync up the podcast shortly after the show aired in the Eastern time zone and take it with me on the bus if I so choose. MSNBC could do this, why can't Current?

Oh, and I should note that the MSNBC version was the FULL SHOW, minus the commercials. And I could get it in audio or video versions.

They still do this for Rachel Maddow, but for reasons I have yet to uncover, not for any of the other prime time hosts (Ed Schulz, Lawrence O'Donnell, Cenk Uygur etc.)

Oh, I'm well aware of this - I still have a double-handful of them sitting in my iTunes at home (including the special Saturday broadcast after the Arizona shooting and his final episode on MSNBC).

Keith's exact words on the matter: the cable carriers won't let us - they put all new networks over a barrel on that

We can hope for a change in the future.

So those of us that don't have cable or satellite are mostly screwed. Oh well. I'll take what I can get of him.

A great many with cable are equally screwed. Cox, for instance, isn't carrying Current.
