Got home about 10:00 p.m. last night after a long and mostly pleasant driving day. I will report on the rest of ConTata later, but short form: amazingly fun. Great time, new friends, much love for older friends, really good steak. More detail later. Today, I have to go to the store, do laundry, and -- oh yeah -- sleep. A lot.
How's your week starting out?

Date: 2011-07-05 03:16 pm (UTC)As to us...I need to do a post, but the neighbors had a fire over the weekend that resulted in our losing (due to firemen) our door (mostly; the lock was broken and the door was warped, but it's padlocked for now and as of earlier today

Date: 2011-07-05 05:22 pm (UTC)And thank you for everything; having you and Tom worked out exactly as well as we'd hoped--and Douglas and Juliana were a -very- nice bonus!

Date: 2011-07-05 04:49 pm (UTC)And, again, so many thanks to you and Merav and John and everybody else. It was a great weekend, m'friend, and I only hope I lived up to your expectations.
(And, I knew Ruth's Chris was good -- I just had never really had it in my adult life. [The one time I did was for my birthday with my mom, many years ago, too long ago to remember and too inexperienced to appreciate.] And it was, indeed, gooooood.)

Date: 2011-07-05 05:29 pm (UTC)I hope so too; I'm very glad we were at the con rather than at home when this happened, even if it means our door got broken.
And you -totally- lived up to our expectations -- it was a blast! [btw; Jon, not John; a pretty minor point, I admit].
I went out to Ruth's Chris twice myself (ok, not by myself; with Lisa, and the first time also with Christine and eventually Aaron) and it was lovely -- but somehow, between needing/wanting to get places [Saturday we were late for the RHMS rehersal; Sunday I just wanted to get to the Rotten Apple as we'd started dinner late] and distraction I managed to leave stuff behind both times! However, both times it was trivial to retrieve what had been lost!
