No, I wish he could represent WI instead of that Non-Entity Johnson. Also, I wish Alan Grayson also could represent Wisconsin, maybe in Sensenbrenner's or Ryan's districts.

Thank you for sharing. I love it when the facts rip apart bigotry.

Not to defend the bigots, but depending on when and where the study was done, specifying two married parents may well have restricted the participants to heterosexual couples. I do love that he stood up, I just wish he had done it on firmer footing.

Actually, the thing that popped out at me in the definition of "nuclear family" was that both parents had to be the biological or adoptive parents of ALL the children in the family. Is the study trying to claim that children who live with both bio-parents do better than those living in blended families?

Nope. It says that children who live with two parents do better than children who live with one. Neither biological relationship nor gender of the parents were as important as simply having a partner who could help.

I believe this would be the study in question. It used data from the 2001-2007 National Health Interview Surveys.

Love the chamber's reaction to "I .... checked the study out."

Ex-cellent, Mr. Franken! Pulled a Columbo on the opposition. "Um, oh, I uh, I have the study here, lemme read it...oh yeah, it says you're fulla BULLSHIT!"
