Great sadness. Comedian Soupy Sales has passed away at the age of 83. Either you don't know who he was or why he was funny, or you absolutely do.

What are your favorite kinds of pie? Nothing beats a good apple for me, but peach can also be lovely.

Remind me shortly before you get to Seattle in Jan and I'll bake you one of my "Super Magick Tongue Tickling Apple Pies". I'm not just some random geek-grrl (well, I am, but...) s00j and vixyish and stealthcello and tfabris and technoshaman and... some number of other people of our mutual acquaintance can vouch for my cooking.

I'll vouch for her... especially if I can help eat pie. :)

Personally, pecan, pumpkin, key lime, and mincemeat among the sweets, and chicken pot and shepherds among the savories... but I will not turn down a well-done apple (doragoon provided one to our last Jam which was VERY yummy; she used a lot of ginger, and didn't get it all smoothly crushed, which made for an INTERESTING variation... (no, if it's not *too* intense, I *like* biting into a chunk of candied ginger... woo!)... she was complaining about the fact that they've changed Crisco and that she might just have to go back to good old fashioned lard for the crust... but boy do I digress...)

But PIE in general is a Happy Thing, which is why they're a regular feature of Jam...

(Or, as cflute says when it comes to difficult decisions like "which pie", "Embrace the power of AND...")
