(1) Evil is negative. So the square root of evil is imaginary, and thus money is imaginary. (I assume we're all on board with this conclusion; I know that, as a grad student, most of _my_ money is imaginary. :> )
(2) Evil is certainly real. However, girls are obviously complex (i.e., having both a real part and an imaginary part). Since evil is also negative (see (1)), and since complex values cannot be said to be simply "negative" or "positive" (any more than (-2,3) can), there must be an error in the proof that girls are evil. I conclude that it's more complicated than that. ;>
Apropos of nothing in particular, I just looked over your LJ, and realized that you're, you know, that singer from Escape Key. My wife and I have your "Shadowbeast" album. Good stuff. :)
I meant vixyish, to whom I was responding. You're that different filker, who, you know, has those many other songs involving sheep and improbable alcohol. :) (I've seen each of you in concert, and I promise that I will never, ever mistake one of you for the other. ;> )
Further problem with the math... it is the love of money, not money itself that is purported to be evil. Therefore would it not be the LOVE of girls that is evil?

Date: 2005-04-26 02:51 pm (UTC)Knowledge = power. (Bacon)
Power = Work / Time. (Physics)
Power = Work / Money
Knowledge = Work / Money
Money = Work / Knowledge
Thus, the more you know, the harder you have to work to make even a fraction of what they're paying your dumbass boss.
Knowledge is power.
Power corrupts.
Study hard.
Be evil!
I'll see that mathematical geekiness, and I'll raise...
