Picked mine up yesterday, in an odd 2pack. Wal-mart had Serenity in widescreen for $14.96, or bundled together with the widescreen of Ang Lee's "The Incredible Hulk" for....$14.96. I never actually got around to seeing Hulk backwhen, and figured that for the price (free), I'd give it a whirl.
I happen to like Hulk. Yeah, it's got problems, and, yeah, Jennifer Connelly should've had something to eat first... but (and this is admittedly two-thirds of the way through the movie) when Ol' Jade-Jaws cuts loose in broad daylight at last, in that desert sequence... damn that's the Hulk.
Yeah, a lot of people hated Hulk, but then again, a lot of people hated The Fantastic Four, a move I adored, so it may be that what others want from a comic book movie and what I want are very different things. :)
Haven't bought FF yet. I may not for awhile. I liked it, except those tedious parts peppered throughout the movie. You know... when that yuppie shmuck wannabe they laughingly tried to pass off as Victor Von Doom was onscreen. I liked Reed & Sue, though -- and I was fully prepared not to like either -- and was amazed at how well the Thing worked. The Torch was perfect.
