on the one hand it's cute. Sickening but cute.

on the other hand (as my catholic husband says) "oh goody. Someone's trying to make a profit off of fear. And kid's fears which is worse."

Heh, I wondered if you'd run across that. I get the feeling that the people who think armor can be made of pillows and prayers are the ones responsible for budgeting for vehicle armor in Iraq these days.

Do them one better. Make a Webpage just like it, offering Satan's Satin, spiritual PJs for adults who don't plan to stay in them all night long. ;)

As a li'l kid, I woulda probably wanted the male version. Not because of my religion (I'm Muslim), or because it would have kept away fears, but DUDE, ARMOR YOU CAN SLEEP IN!

Bedtime would have been a lot more fun.

Of course, when I look at it now, it's creepifying.

Yeah, and I think a pair of silver pajamas with stitching for the armor plates, and a gold lion rampant on the front would have been awesome.

But the addition of "God" to the idea has turned it from cute to creepy. Funny how that works.

now remember kids, boys are supposed to always look like little warriors. Girls...umm...well, let's go for the "harem girls battle to the death" look, 'kay? And don't forget the bridal veil. It's just not a girl's outfit without one.

Though part of me thinks the concept is quite sweet, the rest of me is trying to sit on that part and tell it that it will not be allowed a voice in child-rearing.

Actually, I think she's supposed to be wearing a nun's wimple, not a veil.

But hey, at least the girls get a shield too, so she can be a Warrior Nun. :)

As for your link, I need to toddle off and drop it on the author of Shine Heaven Now. There's a character in her comic who would sooo be wearing those... things.

And there is something about that logo--the Burger-king style crown hanging jauntily off the cross. It's so charmingly...cavalier. It evokes an image of a 1960's musical comedy about a medieval king coming home from a long day on the throne, singing a cute song about how hard it is to be a king all day, casually tossing the crown onto a convenient crucifix-hatstand as he prepares for an evening of making whoopie with his concubine.

Well, it's obvious from the heraldry that the "christian" is an English Church member. I wonder if the Presbyterians have a different one to wear — say, a white saltire on blue?

Yeeeks. Y'know, I am a Christian -- and I understand the extended spiritual metaphor the Apostle Paul was using in the whole armor sequence -- but this just seems like all sorts of wrong. It's fusing runaway literalism with runaway commericalism with runaway alleged cute. I see how it might be intended as an object lesson or somethin', but sheesh. The text indicates that it's more of a calming tool -- to which I ask "what happened to teddy bears?"

Then again, it's different only in kind from Underoos ...
