I seem to have a troll. Loads of fun, and nearly completely wrong on everything except the fact that I used to have a really messy car, which was kinda common knowledge so it's not exactly the big reveal in Act Three of CSI: Fandom.

Word to the troll, whose IP is noted and logged: Don't bother. I am not a tech whiz, and don't pretend to be one. I know lots of real tech whizzes, and they are the people I go to when I have serious problems. But I'm not clueless either.

If you've got a genuine problem with me about something, the e-mail is filkertom at yahoo dot com. I'll listen. If I just offend you on general principles, though, sorry, but I don't feel like explaining private details of my life just to deflect an amateur-night Don Rickles. If you just want to insult me from behind a fake name, both of us have better things to do.

So, is anybody else holding some kinda grudge I should know about? Have I ticked you off? Something unresolved? I'm very serious here. Apart from the Bush Administration and their enablers, I don't need or want enemies. Certainly not in fandom, not among people whom I consider friends. If you'd rather take it to e-mail, that's good too.

Tom, you are a cuddly, brilliant, talented, funny gentleman. So you have political views, so what, everyone's allowed a foible. ;]

I'm more concerned, personally, that I perpetrated annoying drunken fangirling upon your person at Anthro, and dare to hope that I might be forgiven ...?

Oh ... wait ... maybe that's what annoys the guy ... some cute fannish babe he had his eye on (and yet had no chance in hell with) is smitten with you ...

My guess is that it's because you're one of Them Liberals. Making that fact obvious apparently attracts trolls. I haven't had any random potshots, but I do get such statements from people I "know" (as well as one can know a userpic and username) as, "Oh no, I blame the self satisfied white, affluent, liberals who think they got themselves off the moral hook by parking these kids and generations to follow in welfare orbit."

Wow. And created *just to reply to that post*, apparently. (Going by the date and time of the account creation.)

Second LJ troll I've seen after a filker lately. Weird. Don't think it's the same person, though. Not the same style.

One of the great drawbacks of the internet, which I first encountered on MOOs: the lure of anonymity. It brings out the worst in some people.

Well, I left the remark near the end of the previous thread. It has much more to do with my personal hygiene, and enough at-a-glance knowledge of my life that it's someone who knows me. This bugs me, as I'm really not trying to maintain any grudges or enmities. Life's too short, and there's too much fun stuff to do to get bogged down in that. And, again, it's the kind of petty stuff that, as far as I can tell, doesn't actually affect Mr./Ms. Troll's life, so I'm curious as to what the real problem is.

*blink* Just read the troll's poor attempt at insulting you.
Sorry you got an ass like that. Frankly, the few times you've said something that sits wrong with me, it's really caused me to wonder why it bothers me. Less insulting, more inviting me to use my under-utilized brain.

Hey Tom, the drop down box entry for this on your lyric page is missing the .htm in the link, just FYI.

Ah. Yes, I see. That's a bit more of a concern.

But sometimes there is no rhyme or reason. I found out that someone I'd been calling a friend for a few years . . . wasn't. It was about this time last year. She tried to pin some nasty stuff on me to make me look like a bad wife to my husband, and used someone else to do it, someone who'd decided I didn't share his lighthearted look on life (I was too "churchy") and therefore had to be punished. I tried to make sense of it for MONTHS, then finally just put it away, chalked it up to People Are Weird, and did my best to move on. And now I know my husband is intelligent and that he trusts me, so the whole thing wasn't a TOTAL bust.

So there might be a reason behind it, or it might just be that you've gotten entangled in someone's web of delusion. The feeling that I get from the post is that you'd be best off thinking of former co-workers, but that's only a feeling.

*giggle* I am picturing the way my own notebook would've looked... filled with scribbles in the margins of various rhymes for 'lost'. :)

I believe I like 'sauced' best.

Oh, I have a couple of ideas, although one of whom is someone I haven't seen or dealt with in a long, long time. As in, almost twenty years. Actually, I haven't seen, spoken with, or dealt in any way with any of that kinda candidate in at least two and a half years. Which really makes me sad for their lack of a life.

Your political outspokenness helps keep me sane. In fact, the more vehemently you rant, the less I feel alone in a sea of lemmings. Thanks for that even more than for your music.

And people with perpetually spotless cars creep me out a little.

Thanks, and thanks. Although, again, to be honest, the old Tempo was a disaster, and it was filled with garbage. I got incredibly lazy, and it was vile. Why this is relevant, especially a year and a half after I got rid of the car, I dunno.

And and and... darn you for being an evil liberal! Rahr!

Honestly, with everything in one's life, the fact that they felt the need to pick on the messiness of a car you no longer have is pretty telling.

FWIW, I agree with [livejournal.com profile] admnaismith here. It's nice to hear someone ranting and bellowing about all the things I'm pissed about but can never quite put into words. We really do need more angry liberals.
